Reported yesterday, by my number one movie news source, Collider News (on youtube)
DC/WB’s DCEU film version of ‘THE FLASH’ starring Ezra Miller, has parted ways with yet another Director.
‘DOPE’ Director Rick Famuyiwa and WB have parted ways due to, “Creative Differences”
(Why is it always Creative Differences?)
Not much else has been reported on the matter. But this is the second director to leave over said differences with the studio. Screenwriter..
BREAKING NEWS: As I write and researched this article, Famuyiwa released the following statement earlier today. (LA Time Zone My best guess)
“When I was approached by Warner Bros. and DC about the possibility of directing The Flash, I was excited about the opportunity to enter this amazing world of characters that I loved growing up, and still do to this day. I was also excited to work with Ezra Miller, who is a phenomenal young actor. I pitched a version of the film in line with my voice, humor and heart. While it’s disappointing that we couldn’t come together creatively on the project, I remain grateful for the opportunity. I will continue to look for opportunities to tell stories that speak to a fresh generational, topical and multicultural point of view. I wish Warner Bros., DC, Jon Berg, Geoff Johns and Ezra Miller all the best as they continue their journey into the speed force.”
Quickly, as i was stating before. This makes for the second director to drop out of the film, with Screenwriter of the movie, Seth Graham-Smith
Being the first to drop out due to ‘Creative Differences’ with WB and the DCEU. Although, it is assumed that his screenplay will still be attached to the project at the moment. Unless announced otherwise.
Going back to Rick Famuyiwa’s statement. One begs the question.. “What is it that DC/WB is looking for?!” Many were excited at the announcement of Famuyiwa’s involvment with the project, due to his acclaimed work on “Dope” (which i have not yet seen) Many sources stating that Famuyiwa’s style of directing and love of the source material would mpst likely help make a great film.
Now we will literally have to wait and see. Because moat likely, this news would force WB to push the film back in production to a later date.
Lets just hope they can find the best director possible to make a great film. Fingers crossed.
Once more new drops, i’ll try to bring it to you on time.
So, until next time folks… Peace Out!
