WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEW: Disney’s “BEAUTY And The BEAST”

Greetings Ladies and Gentelnerds, and welcome to another addition of “WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS”

todays movie?.. (do you have to ask?)

“Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST”

 https://youtu.be/e3Nl_TCQXuw

THE STORY: Boy meets witch, acts like a dick and gets turned into a Beast, Girl’s dad does stupid shit and gets imprisoned by Beast, Girl takes dad’s place as prisoner, Girl gets Stockholm syndrom and falls for Beast, Beast learns what it means not to be a dick, They Fall In Love and.. Then he turns into a good looking dude and gets the girl.. “Tale as old as time” Really i debated on how i was going to do this review.. Is anything a spoiler? The story itself is like.. Hundreds of years old. The Animated Movie is like 20+ years old. Who the hell hasnt seen Beauty and The Beast?!

Whatever..
The story is great. Its not exactly a shot for shot, song for song remake of the original. But its really good. I enjoyed all the old stuff and really liked the additions to the story. I was hooked the moment the opening theme played. I liked the actual visualization of the ‘Enchantress’ and the curse she put on the prince. The special effects were great. The musical numbers really cool. Really, a great movie. Disney does it again.

THE CAST: Talent across the board. Great performances by those who were there. Great vocal performances by the non existent actors. The guy who played The Beast was cool.

Emma Watson…

Once i think i cant love her anymore then i already do.. She goes and gives me more to love. She can sing and she sings wonderfully. People should compare her to the original voice actress because that woman was a proffesional! Emma clearly has the pipes. But its not what she does. And what she does here was gokd enough for me. Emma was freaking awesome, and is honestly one of the only reasons i decided to watch this damn movie. Other then the curiosity/nostalgia factor.

THE POSITIVES: Emma Watson.

THE NEGATIVES:

Just joking. But Emma Watson was awesome!

Great acting. The CGI characters were cool. The music was on point. They really brought the movie to life beautifully. The ending was a bit of a surprise. I will not spoil anything.. But they changed the ending from the animated version. A drastic change, but not a bad change. It worked.

THE NEGATIVES: The Beast…

Was not terrible. The visual effects to create him was good.. Just.. I wouldnt have been mad if they used some practicle effects. He wasn’t very impressive for me. I understand the need to try and make this..

Look as real as possible.. But i think they could have done a mix of practicle and digital effects. Uhm.. Could have used more action in the final act. I remembered a more physical altercation between Beast and Gaston ( I could be mistaken) or at least they could have been more physical at that part. Oh! The “BE OUR GUEST” song.. Not a knock on Ewan Mcgregor’s singing voice.. But that rendition sucks compared to the animated film. I did not like it. The presentation was great, but lacked in the vocal department.

OVERALL: Yet another great addition to Disney’s live action remakes. They keep getting better and better. Leaves me with high hopes for their future remakes. Mostly Jon Favuro’s “LION KING” remake. I give “BEAUTY AND THE BEAST” a score of 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 6/10. Very Enjoyable, worth checking out!

Thx for reading folks. Have you seen Beauty and The Beast yet? What are your thoughts? Comment below, leave a like and please follow the blog.

Until next time folks.. Peace Out!

WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS: ‘OSCARS 2017’ A Short Recap!

Lets me be honest.. I watched The Walking Dead, more then i watched This Years Oscars. But i switched back once TWD was finished and caught one hell of a show..

I’ll keep this short and sweet.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: Viola Davis for “Fences”

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR: Mahershala Ali for “Moonlight”

BEST DIRECTOR: Damien Chazelle for “La La Land”

BEST ANIMATED FILM: “Zootopia”

BEST MAKEUP AND HAIRSTYLING: “Suicide Squad”

BEST COSTUME DESIGN: “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them”

BEST VISUAL EFFECTS: “The Jungle Book”

BEST ACTRESS: Emma Stone for “La La Land”

BEST ACTOR: Casey Affleck for “Manchester By The Sea”

La La Land took home the most awards for the night 6 in total, leaving “Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King” still Oscars champ.
But that my friends is not the biggest news..

The final award, BEST PICTURE.. I laughed my fucking ass off.. In case you missed it.. Here’s the rundown.

Warren Betty and Faye Dunaway were to present the nights winner. Upon opening the envelope, Warren seemed confused and unable to announce a winner.. Looking perplexed, he looked at Ms. Dunaway and seemed to look offstage for some assistance.

Unsure what to do, he handed the envelope to Dunaway and she proclaimed “The Oscar Goes To, La La Land!” que music, everyone goes on stage and thank you speeches are being made..
However, behind the person giving his speech. I see a man with a headset racing around looking for the envelope.. Turns out.. Dunaway and Beatty were given the wrong envelope!

They were given the Best Actress envelope, which read, “Emma Stone: La La Land” not the Best Picture Envelope that had, “Moonlight” which was the real winner!

To put into perspective how shocking and amazing this is (and fucking hillarious!) The Oscars are 89 years old.. This. Has never. Happened before! Who the fuck was handing out the envelopes!?
Naturally, everyone is blaming Beatty and surprisingly enough not both he and Dunaway. Bit its neither of their fault! Unlike Steve Harvey who actually just didnt read the right fucking name! They were given the wrong Envelope!

Kimmel, from what i did watch, was pretty good as host. The bits with Matt Damon were freaking funny.

The Best Picture botch was what saved the show! The Oscars pulled ‘A Harvey’

So.. Thats my recap. Thanks for reading. Until next time folks.. Peace Out!

‘WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS’: “THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE”

Hey there, ladies and gentelnerds and welcome back to another edition of “WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS!”
Todays movie..

“THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE”

THE STORY:

Batman is the man! According to him. He’s always right. His amazing 9 pack abs are the greatest thing ever. (yes, i said 9 pack abs) He has it all figured out. And, He can do it all on his own. He doesn’t need anyone! Or so he believes. When The Joker devises a way to destroy Gotham and make Batman relaize how much he hates Joker, Batman is put to the ultimate test.
Make no mistake. This is a kids movie. But the message can be felt and learned by people of all ages. The story is brilliant and funny. It may not be as loveable as its predecessor ‘The Lego Movie’, but its a close second. The Lego animation is spot on. The references to all of Batman’s past is fantastic. They go as far back as the 1940’s seriels. Its hillarious. They play around a lot with the Batman ’66 stuff. Bane sounds like Tom Hardy from The Dark Knight Rises. All of it is so funny.

THE CAST:

Will Arnet proves his worthiness of the cowl. Rosario Dawson’s Barbra Gordon is great. Michael Ceras’ Robin is awesome. Ralph Fiennes as Alfred was spot on. So much so, i wouldn’t mind seeing him do it in live action form. The biggest surprise for me, was Zach Galifinakais’ Joker!

For the material it was made for.. It was perfect! I loved it. Im surprised how much i liked his version of The Joker.

THE POSITIVES: Everything was awesome!

THE NEGATIVES: The soundtrack didnt have the song , “Everything Is Awesome”

OVERALL: “The Lego Batman Movie” is a great movie for the whole family. Its good for a date movie. Its good for going on you own to forget about all the other bullshit going on in your life for an Hour and a Half. Its all around great! We are 2 movies into the Lego Movies Franchise, and I cant wait for The ‘Lego Ninjago’ Movie!

I Give, ‘THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE’ a score of, 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 8/10. Your going to have a great time! Go see it!

Have you seen Lego Batman? What are your thoughts? Hit me up, and be sure to leave some likes and follow/subscribe for more Weekend Movie Reviews!

WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS!: DCAU’S “JUSTICE LEAGUE: DARK”

Hey There ladies and gentelnerds, and welcome back to another segment of “WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS!”
Today’s movie.. DC’s Animated Universe Original Movie, “JUSTICE LEAGUE: DARK”

THE STORY: When theres something strange, in your neighbourhood. Who you gonna call? A British demon killer, A Deadman, A self-loathing immortal, A Beautiful Magician.. And The Batman! Basiclly thats what Justice Leage Dark is about. Supernatural forces are making normal people do some crazy fucked up shit.. And its up to Batman (who else) to assemble a team to combat this threat.

DC’s Animated Universe is slowly improving. This film being one of the few good ones out of the recent string of, how can i say, Shit! That has come out prior. I can seriously count on one hand how many good ones this division of DC/WB has produced in the recent years.

The story is really good. Its entertaining. The cast of characters are actually the best thing about the movie. Everything else, seems to just be there. Constantine is super fun. Zatana is a bad ass. Deadman is funny. Etrigan is pretty darn cool. And Batman is… Batman! I liked his reactions to all the mystical things going on. Swamp Thing.. Shouldnt even be on the damn cover of the movies dvd box case..

That right there friends… Is false advertising!
THE POSITIVES: Again, the characters. The good thing to come out of this movie is the fact that i wanted more from these characters. I want an animated series on adult swim or something. (Why Adult Swim? SPOILER ALERT: They fight a fucking shit monster. An actual monster made of Shit!)

There is an incredible amount of potential for this ‘Dark’ franchise. If they’re smart enough to capitalize. But lets face it.. WB Animation is as smart right now as thier live action counterparts..

THE NEGATIVES: Swamp Thing was fucking WASTED!! A total fucking waste of time. Not gonna spoil it.. But they gave the Shit Monster more screen time! Bad guy was all powerful yet non threatening, and non interesting. Hades from the Justice League cartoon was more menacing. And he only had less then 5 minutes of screen time out of a 22 minute episode. And in all honesty.. If your not gonna use the Justice League in a compelling way in your story.. Dont include them at all! It seems like Batman is always the main focul point of every JL animated movie. Why havent we gotten any Wonder Woman movies out of this new animatex universe? How about Superman? Or GL? Oh thats right.. They would rather basterdize Batman stories instead and force feed us bullshit stories with his son Damien. (Im looking at you Batman vs. Robin!.. Asshole!)

OVERALL: Besides the total screw job on Swamp Thing.. JUSTICE LEAGUE: DARK is a fun movie. Its one of the good ones. Entertaining. Beautiful Art. And great characters.

I score, “JUSTICE LEAGUE: DARK” A 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5/10. You’ll enjoy it for the same reasons i did. If you like it for more reasons.. Then your grasping and straws friend.

Have you seen JL:DARK? What are your thoughts? Hit me up. Comment below. And for fucks sake, can a brother get some LIKES!!?

Until next time folks.. Peace Out!

“‘THE MARVEL VS. DC TOURNAMENT’! NEW YEAR. NEW TOURNAMENT. NEW RULES”

Happy New Year! Ladies and Gentelnerds. Welcome to the first blog of 2017! 2016 has been pretty good to me thanks to all of you for reading and visiting the site. I greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

So, as voted by 4 or so people on twitter. Our very first Tournament Of The New Year will be a, “Marvel vs. DC Tournament”

As stated in the title. There will be some new rules. Instead of allowing folks to choose thier own characters to represent themselves in the tournament. There will be a selection of pre determined characters and/or Titles.
Allow me to elaborate on that last part. Single Characters are not the only options. Up for grabs will also be, Books. Movies. Shows. Or Cartoons. For example..

Dr. Strange the animated film

Vs

Superman: Unbound

OR:

DEATH OF THE FAMILY

VS.

CIVIL WAR

Players will choose from a predetermined list of options that will be posted on a later blog.

Im looking for at least 20 players. If i cant get that many, lets see if we can have some fun with 10?

So.. What do you folks think? You down? Hit me up on Twitter (or instagram) to let me know. Thank you for reading, and lets have some fun.

God bless you all and your families. And lets hope 2017 gives us everything we hope and pray for.

Until next time… Peace Out!

“FIRST CLEAR LOOK AT ‘DISNEY’S: BEAUTY AND THE BEAST’ Via EW”

Next years most anticipated Disney live action reimagining of thier animated classic, BEAUTY and THE BEAST. Is generating a lot of buzz. Thanks in part to the past live action outings Disney has made. The cast of Actors is top notch. And just the other day ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY, dropped (Is it next months issue?.. Ah whatever) They dropped their latest look in to the film.. Lets take a look..

(Ah-Ha! It says November on top.. So its this months issue.) The cover gives us our first real look at Beast and Belle together in the famous Ball Room scene. Yellow Gown and all. Beast looks pretty darn cool, and Emma Watson’s Belle is beautiful.

Another closer look at Beast and Belle. A clearer shot of Beasts look.

Belle doing her chores, just like in the animated version.

Luke Evens and Josh Gad as Gaston and Lafue.

A shot of Gaston, most likely during the song and dance scene, ‘No Guy Like Gaston’

Probably my favorite pic. Our first real look at Lumier, Cogsworth, The Teapot and the Feather Duster. Nicely done.

Im actually looking forward to this movie. What do you folks think? Let me know, leave a comment. Follow/Subscribe and all that good stuff.

So, until next time folks.. Peace Out!
