NETFLIX and CHILL: ‘GoodBye DISNEY, Hello MILLARWORLD!(?)’

Sooo.. As we all have heard and well know by now. Disney has decided to pull its massive disney D!€Ω, out of Netflix and go solo with its own streaming app, at the very end of 2018.

That means. All Disney products, Pixar, Disney Animation, ABC productions, ESPN Programing (ie: 30 for 30), Movies (live action and animated) Disney Channel Shows, everything and anything associated with that freaking Mouse is leaving Netflix and being streamed exclusively on their new (as of yet un-named) App.

Now, what does this mean for the “Netflix Exclusive” Marvel Shows?

Well… Although Marvel is under the Disney Banner, The contract Netflix has with Marvel and those exclusive shows lasts just a bit longer then the end of 2018.. Probably another year or so more. However, at this moment (to public knowledge) Netlfix is currently speaking with Disney on extending the contract for Marvel Brand titles, and Star Wars Titles.

(Which makes sense, seeing that those could be the most viewed programming at the moment.)

So for the time being, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, The Defenders, The Punisher are still going to be available on Netflix for the forseeable future. IF! No extension is granted to Netflix by disney for these properties.. Be prepared to see them slowly bleed away to the Disney App.

IN OTHER NEWZ!

Prior to Disney’s announcement to part ways with Netflix. Netflix itself, reported thier very first outside acquisition. MILLARWORLD Publication.

Mark Millar’s Comic Publication

which includes the titles WANTED,

 KINGSMEN,

KICK-ASS,

 SUPERIOR,

EMPRESS,

 NEMESIS

and many more.

That means, We can expect brand new original content coming To Netflix in the coming months and years. Based off of these many titles. On the flipside of that coin though..

WANTED, KINGSMEN and (probably) KICKASS are still licensed by other studios and companies.. So until those licenses run out or Netflix makes a deal for them.. We wont be seeing those exact titles anytine soon. BUT! Nemesis is one title i have been most interested in seeing come to life. Its like, What If Batman, took all those skills, all that money, and all that intelligence and became the foremost badass super criminal/terrorist the world has ever known. So, i am looking forward to that.

That being said, it’s not all bad that Disney is leaving in another year and a half from now. Im sure both companies can still find away to do successful business together. Millarworld is a very nice and exciting consultation prize. Millar has crafted a series of wonderfully written masterworks. Very suitable for live action translations. I am very certain, that everything will turn out for the Best for everyone involved.

But! What do YOU folks think?! leave a comment. A LIKE. Subscribe/Follow! And thx so much for reading!

Until next time folks… Peace Out!

“DAY 2 OF DISNEY’S D23 FAN EXPO” (Five days later)

Okay.. Im late with this article, because  I’ve been sooo… How do you say? PISSED! At what came out of D23 day 2.. Or should i say, What didn’t come out of Day 2! I’m gonna try and make this quick

So, basicly Marvel Studios had it’s time to shine at Day 2 of D23. Releasing two new official posters for “AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR”

Nerdgasmic!, am i right?

They also unvailed the 4 mystery characters set to appear in the film.

And No! It was not the Fantastic Four.

As mostly every logical fan predicted, it was in fact THE BLACK ORDER!

Or as they are being called, “THE CHILDREN OF THANOS” meaning that in the MCU they are the siblings of Gamora and Nebula.

Corvus Glave

Proxima Midnight

Ebony Maw

And Black Dwarf

But prior to that unveiling, Kevin Fiege took the stage to introduce Thanos himself, James Brolin and most of the cast. Along with one of the directors Joe Russo (Anthony Russo most likely still filming the rest of the film)
Joe Russo then went on to show a nice little 10th anniversary retrospective video celebrating the upcoming anniversary… Then, at the tail end of that footage…

A Fucking Trailer followed! A fucking trailer! That, according to those who saw it, it was fucking epic!

“Why do you sound so angry about that?” you ask?…

THEY HAVEN’T RELEASED IT!! To this day… July 20th, 2017 as i write this right now! NOTHING! NOT EVEN A SINGLE TEASE! When asked if Marvel would drop it online, Joe Russo said, “Very Soon.”

We’ve (I’ve) been waiting all these damn days!!

(Those who have seen Spider-Man: Homecoming will get the reference)

*Deep Breath*

Ok.. It’s thursday as i said, as i write this. And SDCC Is set to kick off in a few hours (West Coast Time) I immediately jumped to google and looked up the SDCC line up.

Best bet.. The Avengers:Infinity War trailer should drop just after Marvel Studios’ presentation in Hall H on Saturday, just around… 5:30- 7:00 pm Western time.. Thats like…

2.. Carry the 1.. Γ· by 5.. Γ— 18… Subtract 6… Hmm… I think roughly 8Pm eastern standard time… So! Those of us over here… Have a bit of a wait.. Unless.. Maybe 8am? Shit.. Fuck this time zone shit. We’ll get it some time saturday afternoon or later. Either way, we still gotta wait. Fuck!!

Oh yea.. They also showed stuff from the live action Lion King and some other neat stuff… yay… πŸ˜•

Thats all the time i got folks.. Gotta work on another article. So, until next time.. Peace Out!

“DAY 1 OF DISNEY’S D23 EXPO 2017!: What Caught my attention”

Hey there ladies and gentelnerds. Well, Disney’s D23 FAN EXPO 2017 is in full swing. Day 1.. Is honestly.. Probably still going? Maybe? You know, the whole “time zone” thing. East coast, West coast… Very different. Its like two separate universes. Fucking wierd. Anyhoo.. Day 1 has given us some pretty cool looks at what Disney animation has in store for us in the coming months and year(s). Also some nice glimpses into the world of Avengers: Infinity War, Thor: Ragnorak, Black Panther, a Marvel Mystery set to be revealed tomorrow and Star Wars land, and also, This Years ‘DISNEY LEGENDS’ inductee’s.

Here’s a few things that caught my eye.

STAR WARS LAND: We got a much closer look at Disney’s Future attraction with a detailed model of a section of the theme park.

This model just amazes me. Granted you may say, “It’s just a model” But just judging from the scale of it though… This place is going to be Massive!

DISNEY LEGENDS:

Disney honored long time Disney stars and contributers/Partners, Such as..

Mark Hamil

Carrie Fisher

Oprah

And of course.. The Man, The True Legend,

STAN LEE,

Who is, in fact, a modern era Walt Disney. A man who Stan looked up to, and admired and hoped to emulate. So, for me. To see him get this award… Was Very heart warming.

BLACK PANTHER/ THOR: RAGNORAK:

Marvel Studios gave fans closer looks at the costumes of these two highly anticipated films.

DISNEY ANIMATION:

We got our first looks at Disney’s COCO and WRECK-IT RALPH 2: RALPH WRECKS THE INTERNET. We also got news about TOY STORY 4. Jon Lasseter stepped down from the co-directors chair and has appointed co-director Josh Cooley to helm the project on his own. Details on Frozen 2 were announced as well. And most importantly,

INCREDIBLES 2! It is on its way and the story will pick up right exactly were the first one left off. The Underminer explodes from the ground and boom! We start our new adventure. I am so stoked!

Lastly..

The Marvel Studios Mystery:

Sometime tomorrow. Marvel plans to unvail these 4 mystery statues/characters. Many believing that it could be the Fantastic Four! With many theories as to how and why. SPOILER ALERT: in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Happy reveals that Tony has sold off Avengers Tower to an unknown and unnamed buyer. Leading many to speculate that The Baxter building could be in our future and these four figures could be the new Marvel MCU Fantastic Four! And to that i say… Close, but no cigar. Although that theroy is pretty damn awesome. Its not very likely at this point in time. What IS however more likely? Since the reveal of the Thanos figure..

The shrouded figures next to him and/or behind him, could most likely be..

THE BLACK ORDER!

Granted there are only Four shrouded figures.

And there are 5 Black Order members.

My guess is.. The big one is Black Dwarf, the one to the right of the big one (our left. According to the picture) could be Black Swan or Ebony Maw. The one to the left (our right.) could be Corvus Glaive and the last one could be Proxima Midnight. That seems the most logical choice. Although, i would be off the wall thrilled and excited if The FF was back with Marvel.. That would mean Silver Surfer would be back where he belongs. But that day wont come just yet.

SO! thats it for day 1. Lets see what day 2 has in store. Im excited. Stay tuned to this very blog site. Where, Very soon, I’ll run down a few things i hope to see come out of “SAN DIEGO COMIC CON INTERNATIONL 2017” coming next weekend. I will try to stay on point with this coverage of DISNEY’S D23 EXPO 2017. If anything catches my eye out of Day 2. We shall see..

Thank you so much for joining me, and reading my BS. I greatly appreciate it. And until next time folks.. Peace Out!

WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS: MARVEL/SONY’S “SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING”(SPOILER FREE)

Greetings Ladies and Gentelnerds! “WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS” is back.. Today’s movie?..

Ok.. Here. We. Go!

THE STORY: “Several months after the events of Captain America: Civil War, Peter Parker, with the help of his mentor Tony Stark, tries to balance his life as an ordinary high school student in Queens, New York City while fighting crime as his superhero alter ego Spider-Man as a new threat, the Vulture, emerges.”

I thought the story was a great story. The plot was surprisingly strong. I dont know who can get more credit when it comes to the story. Marvel or Sony. There are some elements that can point to where a Marvel idea was put in and where a Sony idea was put in. There are.. Element problems with the story (I’ll get to that later) But over all, a very good story.

THE CAST:

By far the best cast in a Spider-Man film. Ever! The two stand outs.. Tom Holland and Michael Keaton! Keaton actually was.. A god send for this film.

If he was not in this movie, as this character.. This would have been a completley different movie. I honestly believe he was the backbone of the movie. Tom was a fantastic Peter Parker and a very good Spider-Man.

With room to grow as that part of the character. Robert Downey jr. Was RDJ. What more can i say about him that hasn’t been said already. Morisa Tomai is a great version of Aunt May. They play up the idea of her being the ‘Hot Aunt’ very well. Zandaya

was a bright spot every time she was on screen. The other members of the supporting cast was good.

Very talented actors and actresses, played their parts perfectly.

THE POSITIVES:

Keaton. Keaton. Keaton. Keaton! I’ve never loved The Vulture, until now. He gave that character such.. Life. Such flavor. Such a soul! I rank Vulture just behind The Kingpin in the list of best Marvel Villans,

1: Loki

2: Kingpin

3: Vulture

4:Ultron

5:Red Skull

6: Zemo

Thats my list..

Tom Holland..

Brilliant. Just brilliant. Couldnt have asked for a more perfect Parker. With the added benefit of his Spider-Man of being able to grow and become the best Spider-Man since Maguire. Zandaya was great. The story. The characters. Although we never got this version of The Shocker.. (Spoiler?!)

The version we did get..

Was both interesting and fun!

Donald Glovers cameo..

Maybe a spoiler.. But heres a hint..

Very interesting.

The use of comedy was well played. It wasn’t a full blown comedy but there was a lot of comedic moments, all of them used appropriately.

And lastly.. The Twist with Vulture..

Very, very well played. Saw it coming at the moment it was coming.. But very well done and very well executed.

THE NEGATIVES:

Ned made me miss Harry Osborne. Not a knock on the actor. He was good. Just did not like the character. Annoying in my opinion. Used very well at the right times. But just.. Did not sit well with me. Maybe in the sequel? Hopefully I’ll get used to him.  Flash Thompson.. Not my Flash, but.. Okay, I’ll go with it. Diversity for the sake of diversity, isn’t always the best thing in my opinion. I could appreciate the freshness of this new Flash Thompson.. Just.. Idk.. Not what im used too, not what i was hoping for. But, I’m gonna go with it. And no.. It is not because of the race of the actor nor the look of the actor. It was the characteristics and the way he was presented that didn’t grab me. He could have at least bulked up or something. Do some pushups kid.  The “Other Twist”?… Fuck You! Reminded me of the shit Nolan pulled in ‘Dark Knight Rises’ Did not appreciate that and it stunk of Sony’s handiwork. A lot of the things i didnt like, felt like things Sony shoved in. I could be wrong, I dont know what was added by whom, but it just felt like things that were not necessary, was Sony’s doing. Spider-man was soo damn clumsy! I have never seen such a clumsy version of spidey, ever, in my whole life. I hated that. He seemed more comfortable in Civil War, taking on other superheroes, then he did swinging through the city. It was weird. Granted. I understand the fact that this is a 15 year old kid, and they are trying something different and new.. But damn! It was like watching George of The Jungle “Watch out for that tree!” Lastley, he seemed.. De-powered. Did not like that. He seemed slower for no apparent reason. I saw a severe lack of Spider-Sense. Like as if he didn’t have it. Hope they change that.

OVERALL:

The best Spider-Man film since, Spider-Man 2! A great time at the movies. A worthy addition to the MCU. A great movie. Not without its flaws, but what movie doesn’t have some of those. Also, be sure to stick around for both After credits scenes.. Totaly worth it! (πŸ˜‰πŸ˜)

I give “SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING” a score of 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 6/10. Absolutely Great! A must see!

Let me know your thoughts folks. What did you like, what didn’t you Like. Hit me up. Comment below. Please like and follow! Much appreciate you reading..

Until next time folks.. Peace out!

MY THOUGHTS ON: “THE ‘HAN SOLO’ MOVIE DRAMA”

Wasabi ladies and gentelnerds. Bare with me as i try to catch up on a lot of shit that ive missed..

So! As some of you may have heard, Phil Lord and Chris Miller

The minds behind the Lego Movie were the directors of the, as of yet to be titled, STAR WARS: Anthology “HAN SOLO” Film.

Everything seemed to be flowing along fine..

The cast was set. The script ready to go. And filming was going along smoothly. Or so we thought. With just two and a half months left to completion with principal photography ( in which the bulk of the movie is filmed and put together.) Kathleen Kennedy, the force in charge of the empire,

Announced that Lord and Miller would no longer be the directors of the film.

“Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are talented filmmakers who have assembled an incredible cast and crew, but it’s become clear that we had different creative visions on this film, and we’ve decided to part ways. A new director will be announced soon.”

Lord & Miller also released a statement,

β€œWe normally aren’t fans of the phrase β€˜creative differences’ but for once this clichΓ© is true. We are really proud of the amazing and world-class work of our cast and crew.”

According to many unnamed sources. The Creative Differences was indeed the issue. Especially with EP Lawrence Casden. The man that co-produced and co-wrote every STAR WARS film since “Empire Strikes Back”. Reports state that Lord & Miller clashed with the higer ups since day one. Casden not approving of thier loosy goosey style of directing and heavy improve on most of the script (which Casden Also Co-wrote.)

Lead Actor, Alden Ehnerich (dont know if I’ve spelt that right) voiced some concerns over the directors to other Producers on set. Saying he wasnt very sure of the “Ace Ventura” style of characterization of Han Solo. Stating further that some of the “slap stick” style of direction wasnt making him comfortable with the character. Word spread to Kennedy and Casden. And one may assume after a long meeting. Kennedy gave them the axe.

Luckily, things seem to be of mutual agreement and thier doesn’t seem to be hard feelings. So Lucasfilm/Disney coukd veey well team with Miller & Lord in the future. So thats a good thing.

It didn’t take long for Kennedy to announce thier replacment. Non other then long time Firend of all involved, including Lucas himself,

Good ol’ Ron Howard gets behind the camera of his very first Star Wars film. Granted, its under wierd circumstances. But, at least He’s doing it.

The challange for Howard tho, how much of the film would he have to re shoot later in Pick-Ups. ( The time after production and during post production, where the cast and crew get together for a few more months to re shoot scenes that didnt turn out good the first time, or didnt have the time to shoot, or for adding new scenes to add or replace old ones.) That could be a daunting task if the bulk of the film needs to be redone. Which could cost the studio money and push back the films release date.

Its all rather amazing to hear and see all thats happened so far. Lucasfilm is notorious for keeping all behind the scenes stuff under very close wrap. So its amazing that we know this much.

I remain very hopeful for The Han Solo movie. Ron Howard is a tremendous talent behind the camera. The cast is clearly a solid cast. STAR WARS, LucasFilm, and Disney has not fucked up as of yet. So i give them the benefit of the doubt and remain sure that they can turn this whole ship right back on course.

What do you folks think? Are you worried about the Han Solo Film? Let me know what you think!

Untik next time folks.. Peace Out!

WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEW: Marvel’s “GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL.2”

Hello there ladies and gentelnerds! Long time no see. I gots lots of catching up to do seeing as to that I’ve been pretty ghost.. So why dont we start with a brand new edition of “WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS!” todays movie?..

“GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Vol 2”

THE STORY: Its been a few months since the first film and the gang are Guardians for Hire. After a job for an alien race known as The Sovereign and their leader Ayiasha.

goes sideways, The team find themselves on the run. With a little help from the Mysterious EGO, claiming to be Star Lords father. The team discovers just what it actually means to be Family! And that its not only blood that can bind people together.

The story in itself, honestly? Isn’t the strongest thing about the movie. Its what happens within the story that propels everything forward. Yondu’s story had much more going on, yet was not the main focus. The Father-Son story between Ego and Peter was.. I dont want to say forced, but it was rushed at some points and it wasn’t very strong. Kurt and Chris were excellent and did a great job with what they were given. It just wasn’t the strongest part of the film. The backbone and heart of the movie was the characters. You can tell it was the characters that James Gunn cared for and has a tremendous amount of respect for. So the main plot suffered for that fact just a bit.

THE CAST:

Fantastic! Wonderful! A true treat. Everyone was on point. Batista was a delight. They gave him so much more to work with and he ran with it. Micheal Rooker’s Yondu

has become probably my favorite character of the film, only second to of course..

BABY GROOT! My god he was so damn adorable. He stole my heart and every scene he appeared in.

Sylvester Stallone’s cameo (possible spoiler alert!) as…

Starhawk, was, surprisingly delightful. He could have easily mailed in a performance.. But he didn’t. He acted. He put his heart into it, and i really appreciate it! I would love to see him continue apperaing in the Cosmic MCU.

Kurt Russel’s EGO

was really cool. He played the role as true to character as they could make him. I really cant go too much further in to Ego without spoiling anything. But, Kurt was great.

Ayiasha of The Sovereign..

Too much to say that would border on being a spoiler. But she was very interesting. And i wonder if we will ever see her again. I would be interested in her return.

THE POSITIVES:

The Cast. Baby Groot. Yondu. The Cameos. Oh god! That Stan Lee cameo was fucking epic! I honestly can’t go in to it here.. But oh yeah… I will be digging deep in to that scene. The comedy was top tier. Dave Batista’s Drax was a comedic highlight. The deep cosmic cuts. The 5 or 4 after credits scenes were the best.

THE NEGATIVES: A surprisingly weak plot. The 2nd and 3rd acts was poorly rushed. The soundtrack, Awesome Mix Vol.2 isnt as strong (at least for me) as Vol.1. Non of the tracks stuck with me as much as the first ones did. But that could just be me. The movie would have benefited more from a longer run time.

OVERALL: Another Marvel Studios Masterwork. I cant say its better then the first film, but it can stand shoulder to shoulder with the first film. Its great. In comparison with other Marvel sequels, IE: Thor: The Dark World, Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3 and Avengers 2. Its better then all of those. Its a strong sequel. Not as strong as Winter Soldier, but its a great sequel. A Must See for everyone!!

I score “GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL.2” πŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸ’« 8 and 1/2 stars.

What did you folks think of GOTG2? Hit me up! Comment below, leave a like and a follow. Thx for reading folks.

Until next time.. Peace Out!
