“IT’S ALIVE!!: ‘HELLBOY’ Set To Return With R-Rated Reboot!”

A couple of days ago, Hellboy creator Mike Mignola announced on his social media that his baby boy, Hellboy will return to theaters with a R-Rated Reboot with a new cast, crew and writing staff. Further driving in the final nail in the coffin of Del Toro’s Run on the character along with (at this point) the one true Hellboy Ron Perlman

This news comes months after Del Toro himself made this announcment..

So, the Perlman Hellboy sails off in to the sunset. (That sucks!) But! Animation should STILL be an option for all associated with the original films.

Now, according to Mignola and Collider News, Mignola is among the writers behind the reboot. Directing will be “The Descent” Director, Neil Marshall. Even bigger news is the man who will be trying to fill the very large and impressive shoes of Ron Perlman,

David Harbour from “Stranger Things” and many other projects.

Looking at a side by side of the two

David is 6’2. He has a good built. He is still relatively young enough to bulk up and can go the distance of multiple films. He kinda has the chin. He is a really good actor. So.. He’s no Ron Perlman… But i can dig this casting.

The working title is “HELLBOY: RISE OF THE BLOOD WITCH” or something like that.. Again, it is a working title and no official announcment has been made.

Lastly, the fact that the Studio and everyone involved is approaching this with a R-Rated treatment, makes this project very intriguing for me.

Allow me to explain.

Way back when.. I had a Hellboy game for the PlayStation,

Not the most beautiful looking game. But! The story was pretty damn dark and spooky. Very gruesome and intense. Every aspect of the game was pretty darn spooky. Lets just say i did not play this game with the light off. (I was a kid! So sue me) Pure gamers will probably get on my ass about the lousy graphics and controls, but this isnt about the gameplay itself. Im referring to the enviroment the game presented. It was fucking dark! Del Toro’s Hellboy was very light in comparison. Not as dark and twisted. This R-Rated reboot could give Hellboy a chance to really let loose and be the character Mignola had created in the first place.

So, im hyped. Im happy Horn Head is getting another chance to grace the big screen, lets hope they do it justice and do it right. And most importantly, Make It Fun!

What do you folks think? Are you excited for a new interpretation of Hellboy? Hit me up!

Until next time folks.. Peace Out!

ICYMI: “JOSS WEADON Possibly directing DCEU BATGIRL Film”

Revealed a couple of days ago, Joss Weadon and the folks at DC/WB are in talks for the acclaimed director to Direct, write and produce a stand alone BATGIRL film.

This bods well for the future of the DC (sigh) ‘Extended’ Universe. Joss is a master behind the camera. A skilled storyteller. He knows, i mean, KNOWS how to translate strong female characters on the screen.
Buffy: The Vampire Slayer being a prime example.

And other characters that appeared in the Buffy Spin off ANGEL. And the Series FIREFLY,

And its follow up film SERENITY.

Lets not also forgot his amazing controbutions to the MCU.

The man knows what he is doing. If WB is smart, they will let the man do what he can do and only interject when its absolutely necessary.

But! Keep in mind folks.. Although sites like IMDB has him listed as working on Batgirl.. Nothing is final!

Niether WB/DC nor Wedon himself has confirmed or denied such talks. Although we know those talks are happening. However, we dont have a confirmed word from anyone that He IS doing it.

So, fingers crossed and a deal can be made. And lets hope Joss can work his magic for the DCEU and bring Batgirl to life!

What are your thoughts folks? Is Joss your man for the job? Comment below. Plz leave a like, and a follow!

Until next time.. Peace Out!

ICYMI: Kevin Smith and Marc Bernardin Announce “SAM and TWITCH” and “CASTLE ROCK” Projects!

Earlier this evening on Kevin Smith’s Youtube Channel, He and ‘FATMAN ON BATMAN’ co-host Marc Bernardin

announced their new upcoming jobs. (Video can be seen at the end of this here article)
For the better part of a few months and on in to june or july, highly regarded movie/tv critic and reviewer featured in major publications, Most recently the L.A Times (a job he just recently left) Marc Bernardin has been apart of the Writers room for the upcoming Stephen King HULU Series

A series said to be a unification of the Stephen King Universe. Which could mean characters from King’s numerous works could coexist together.. Which to me sounds like a Stephen King version of “ONCE UPON A TIME..” (The Fairy Tale show on ABC) But at this point not much more is known about the project, but Marc’s involvnent could give me a reason to order Hulu.

Kevin’s big announcement revealed that He and BBC America could be partnering on a SAM and TWITCH series.

For those of you who dont know. Sam and Twicth was (or is) a spin off series of SPAWN.

Following the Supernatural huntng NYPD detectives.

Now, Smith himself states that a deal hasnt been fully confirmed. According to Smith BBC America approached him revealing that they had the rights to the characters for a live action presentation. Asked if he had any ideas, Smith presented an approach to the series the executives seemed to like and appreciate. Smith says a first draft of the Pilot is completed and is ready to be handed in and a full series ground work or ‘bible’ if you will, should be completed by him in the next couple of weeks to a month.

It will be interesting to see how he will be doing this at the same time as he is set to (hopefully) begin pre-production of the “JAY AND SILENT BOB: REBOOT” film.

No word on how involved Todd McFarlane is with this project.. But the idea of Kevin Smith spinning his magic in the McFarlane Spawn-Verse is really exciting! I hope things work out for Kevin and this series. So, fingers crossed folks!

Heres the video i promised..

So what do you folks think? Are you excited for these two projects? Hit me up! Comment Below!

Until next time folks.. Peace Out!

WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS!: “LA LA LAND” vs “MOONLIGHT” (The Best Picture Debate prt. 2)

Welcome to the second Part to the ‘Best Picture Debate’ that I have with myself between “LA LA LAND” and “MOONLIGHT”. Part 1 was a review of Moonlight, This one..

“LA LA LAND”

THE STORY: A jazz pianist falls for an aspiring actress in Los Angeles..

Just want to say quickly…

FUCK YOU LA LA LAND!! FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! And FUCK YOU!

It is a simple story. They meet cute. They fall in love. Careers start growing and failing and then… FUCK YOU LA LA LAND!

Ok.. Im gonna be as honest as possible. First 10-15 minutes.. Wasn’t really feeling it much, besides the opening dance/song number. (loved it enough to download it to my mp3. “Another Day Of Sun” great song. Catchy beat.) Anyhoo.. Then Ryan Goslings character showed up and everything was going great!

I think i may have a Man crush on Ryan Gosling.. (thx a lot La La Land.. Fuckers!) Anyways.. The whole Love Affair between Emma and Ryans’s character was awesome and beautiful. Loved every minute of it! But then shit started getting shitty.. 1.. Just 1 bad desicion on Ryan’s part fucked things up and then things got good. Then things went fucking sideways.. I hated the ending.. I hated it! That is why i say.. “FUCK YOU LA LA LAND! And your little 12 year old looking Director.. FUCK YOU!”

SPOILER ALERT!!

THEY DON’T END UP TOGETHER! There.. I said it.. They gave me a beautiful love story, and they ripped my heart out!

THE CAST: A wonderful cast. Ryan is a fucking star. He should have won best actor at the oscars. I have a feeling he’s going to be another Leo DiCaprio. Great performance after great performance, nomination after nomination.. And then finally, when he does a pretty good role aftdr a really great one, He’ll win an Oscar. Emma Stone.. She was alright. Dont think she deserved the Oscar though.. And in honesty. I hated her character. If and When you see it.. I think you’ll understand why. But she was okay.
THE POSITIVES: There is a reason why these types of movies arent made anymore.. Because Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire and all those stars of that bygone era, are Dead! These movies died with them. It was nice to see it here. Even for just a bit. The dance numbers were cool. The music was great. The story.. *sigh* was wonderful. For the most part.

THE NEGATIVES: That Fucking ending though! Ruined the whole damn thing! Kinda.. But yea.. It fucking sucked.

OVERALL: “LA LA LAND” is in fact a beautifully shot and well paced movie. Acting. Style. It was a good movie. The ending however.. Kinda hurt it for me.. I give La La Land a score of 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟6/10.

Keeping in mind how both films made me feel and the experience they gave me respectively.. I believe, “MOONLIGHT” desreved the Best Picture Oscar. From Beginning to End it had me focused and in to the story. La La Land wasn’t that consistent for me. Opening Number aside, i did not care about the beginning of the story until midway through it. The middle was the best part. The end ruined it for me. It pulled the rug right out from under me. And I honestly did not appreciate that about the film.

Both.. Beautiful film and movies are better off for having them exist.. But, Moonlight deserved the win in my book.

What do you folks think?! Hit me up!

Until next time folks… Peace Out!

WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS!: “LOGAN”(No Spoilers)

Greetings and salutations, Ladies and Gentelnerds! And welcome to another addition of “WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS!”

Today’s Movie (if it isnt obvious..)

“LOGAN”

THE STORY:

James Howlett (aka: Logan) has been serving out his years as a Limo Driver for hire down in the southwest. His days as an X-Man long gone and far in the past. After a mysterious event took out the X-Men, all that is left, is him and a sickly and aged Professor Xavier. Mutants are all but extenict. Logans quiet life is turned upside down when a young girl with the same powers as his, shows up

with a band of secret government soldiers, known as “The Revers” on her tail.

Logan reluctantly comes to the girls aid. Only to discover her shocking history and what it means for his future.

Very, very.. VERY loosely based on the hit graphic novel “Old Man Logan”

By Mark Millar and Steve Mcniven. The only similaritys are Logan, it takes place in the future and theres a road trip.. Literally.. Thats all that has this film resembeling the comic. But you know what.. It does not matter.

“LOGAN” is a beautiful movie. It transcends beyond a comic book film. Its a movie about a man coming to grips with himself. Past, Present and Future. After so many years of physical and mental abuse, from himself and outside forces, Logan learns what it means.. To be human. To feel, Happy.. To feel Love. The story, is short for the films 2 hr run time. But it is very simple and to the point. James Mangold directed a masterpiece of a film. He also wrote the story and co-wrote the screenplay. Which was brilliant.

THE CAST:

First and foremost.. Dafne Keen, stole the Mother Fucking Show!

Her X-23 was probably the best part of the movie. Besides Hugh Jackman, She was.. Phenomenal. She literally stole every frame she was in. As i did some research as i began to write this review. It turns out, this is the young ladys very first film debut.. And what a debut! She had a previous role on a tv series called “Refugees”. But Logan is her first feature film and she Rocked it.

It sucks that this is Hugh Jackmans final turn as Wolverine. But he really brought his A game for this.. And thats saying something. Cause everytime he puts on those claws, he is on point. Every Time. But, somehow.. This felt different. His performance was.. Heavier, of you will. He reall capped it all off pefectly and i Hate to see him go. I really do.

Patrick Stewart’s Xavier is as always, wonderful and yet.. Extremely differnt. I’ve never heard Xavier drop so many F bombs in my entire life. And im happy i got to experience it. This also being Stewarts last go around as Xavier.. It was a beautiful, yet heartbreaking send off for him and the character.

THE POSITIVES:

Direction. Acting. Story. Cinematography.. Everything was beautifully done. Honestly.. Its near perfection.

THE NEGATIVES:

The fact that it is not in any continuity to any of the previous films at all, is not a negative. What, IS a negative for me.. I would have loved to have seen the Continuity it would have sprang from. (if that makes any sense) I wish more of the other movies were within this time frame.

For a 2hr 17 min film.. I wanted more. It left me wanting more. Not that it doesnt end well.. I just didnt want it to end, i guess? I feel like more could have been added in the begining, middle and end. I feel like, there might have been more material left on the editing floor and i hope we get a longer cut on the DVD release (hopefully).

There could have been more.. Bonding time for X23 and Logan. Or i would have at least appreciated a little more togetherness.

A flashback of (SPOILERS) when (Spoiler) reveals (Spoiler) before hes (Spoiler) by (Spoiler) Wow.. Didnt think i could pull that off.. Now! Here’s the trick. If you have seen the film, and can guess what the fuck im talking about. Please feel free to hit me up with the answer and your thoughts.

OVERALL:

“LOGAN” is in fact, the “The Dark Knight” of the X-Men franchise of Movies (and it only took them 8 movies and 20 some odd years to get it done.) An honest to goodness Masterpiece from start to finish. It grabs you by the neck on a coaster ride of emotions, and doesnt let you go until the very end.. And when its over.. You wish you never stopped. You will laugh. You will cry. You will be happy. You will be sad. And then, when all is said and done, You Will Be Greatful. I give “LOGAN” a score of 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 9/10 (probably my higest score to date.) You have to see this.

Thank you all so much for reading and before I go.. I just want to send a message to James Mangold and the People at 20th Century Fox.. Although i know they may never read this.. “Please, Re release Logan around Oscar voting season later this year, in Black and White. Have Hugh Jackman up for best actor, Patrick Stewart best Supporting, Dafne Keen Best Supporting Actress( or best Lead is fine) and Logan for Best Picture and Best screenplay and best cinematography and yourself for Best Director. This Movie.. Truly deserves such recognition. And also.. Thank You! Thank you for such a beautiful and wonderful movie experiance.”

Have you guys seen Logan yet, what did you think? Hit me up. Please leave a like. And pkease follow/subscribe. Thank You.

Until Next Time Folks… Peace Out!

WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS: ‘OSCARS 2017’ A Short Recap!

Lets me be honest.. I watched The Walking Dead, more then i watched This Years Oscars. But i switched back once TWD was finished and caught one hell of a show..

I’ll keep this short and sweet.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: Viola Davis for “Fences”

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR: Mahershala Ali for “Moonlight”

BEST DIRECTOR: Damien Chazelle for “La La Land”

BEST ANIMATED FILM: “Zootopia”

BEST MAKEUP AND HAIRSTYLING: “Suicide Squad”

BEST COSTUME DESIGN: “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them”

BEST VISUAL EFFECTS: “The Jungle Book”

BEST ACTRESS: Emma Stone for “La La Land”

BEST ACTOR: Casey Affleck for “Manchester By The Sea”

La La Land took home the most awards for the night 6 in total, leaving “Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King” still Oscars champ.
But that my friends is not the biggest news..

The final award, BEST PICTURE.. I laughed my fucking ass off.. In case you missed it.. Here’s the rundown.

Warren Betty and Faye Dunaway were to present the nights winner. Upon opening the envelope, Warren seemed confused and unable to announce a winner.. Looking perplexed, he looked at Ms. Dunaway and seemed to look offstage for some assistance.

Unsure what to do, he handed the envelope to Dunaway and she proclaimed “The Oscar Goes To, La La Land!” que music, everyone goes on stage and thank you speeches are being made..
However, behind the person giving his speech. I see a man with a headset racing around looking for the envelope.. Turns out.. Dunaway and Beatty were given the wrong envelope!

They were given the Best Actress envelope, which read, “Emma Stone: La La Land” not the Best Picture Envelope that had, “Moonlight” which was the real winner!

To put into perspective how shocking and amazing this is (and fucking hillarious!) The Oscars are 89 years old.. This. Has never. Happened before! Who the fuck was handing out the envelopes!?
Naturally, everyone is blaming Beatty and surprisingly enough not both he and Dunaway. Bit its neither of their fault! Unlike Steve Harvey who actually just didnt read the right fucking name! They were given the wrong Envelope!

Kimmel, from what i did watch, was pretty good as host. The bits with Matt Damon were freaking funny.

The Best Picture botch was what saved the show! The Oscars pulled ‘A Harvey’

So.. Thats my recap. Thanks for reading. Until next time folks.. Peace Out!

“R.I.P: HELLBOY 3!”

It is, with a heavy heart.. That I must report. It’s official, official, Official!
As reported by Guillermo del Toro, via Twitter..

HELLBOY 3, is officially, 100% dead!

This.. Sucks! Its not a surprise, but this sucks.

Del Toro has been going back and forth with Universal Studios for some time now, about getting Hellboy 3 greenlit. Unfortunately (as far as what has been reported and is known) Del Toro wanted too much money for the third film of the franchise.

Approximately 2oo+ million. And Toro was not looking to budge on that request. And we can not blame Universal and the other studios that could have been involved. (Heres a little history lesson)

HELLBOY (2004)

HELLBOY 2: THE GOLDEN ARMY (2008)

Both films.. Which I love dearly, and can watch multiple times, has not given the studio a successful financial return. Each grossing less then what they cost. Granted, DVD sales helped later on.. But Box Office Gross would have helped a lot more. We can also look at it from Toro’s POV. He has helped Universal make lots of money with his most recent works. PASIFIC RIM comes to mind. So he’s intitled to ask for some good amount of money to make his vision for the final film come to life.

Now, perhaps Del Toro brought his asking price down (maybe) Which would have been a smart movie. However.. Its been.. 9 long years since HB2. Perhaps.. Just perhaps.. If Universal is still interested with the Property. They probably feel like they can ReBoot! They have the advantage of time to help them move away from what came before. Which seems like a more reasonable choice on their behalf..

Although, personally.. I would have loved to have seen the continuation of HB & Liz

Probably my favorite love story in all of cinema. I would have liked to see what wpuld have happened at the very end. Would it have been a happy ending? I hope so.

Maybe Mike Mignola and Del Toro can take the final story to the Comic Book Page?! Or perhaps and Animated Film. CGI the damn thing. Im sure that would be cheaper then a live action film. And Ron Perlman wouldnt have to do too much under the make up and stuff.. (not that he did his own stunts or anything. But you get what i mean)

I wouldnt mind a ReBoot for Hellboy. It’s long over due. The BPRD has a massive universe in Dark Horse Comics. Mike has told so many stories. Maybe Universal should consider a small Hellboy Movie Universe. (HMU copyright and restricted by Me!)  However.. Before they do that.. Somehow, someway.. Give me HB3. Finish the story, and then.. Start from scratch.

Those are just my thoughts and feelings on the situation. How do you folks feel? Hit me up! Comment below, follow/subscribe. Thx for reading.

Until next time folks.. Peace Out!
