“WHY NOW, COULD BE THE TIME FOR A ‘CONEHEADS 2’!”

To this day ‘CONEHEADS’ is one of my most favorite SNL sketches turned Movie out of the several that we have had. (‘Night at The Ruxberry’ being another absolute fav)

I cant recall if any actual talks of a sequel have ever happened. But Now would be a great opprotunity for Dan Aykroyd and Co. To take advantage.

“How would a ConeHeads 2 go?” You ask.. HERE’S HOW!

Beldar (Aykroyd) and Family are flourishing. Things have been going great. But, In this new day and age Beldar finds himself still struggling to fit in with Earth and its modern times. Add his new found role as a Grandfather to his millennial Grandkids, things get tougher.
Start the film in 2016, right at the offset of the presidential election.. Beldar votes for Trump (que puns and jokes there) and boom..

Trump is elected and immigration is of course his first agenda.

I would have Alec Baldwin play Trump in this, because, lets face it.. He’s awesome!

And it would be hilarious. Someone Trump hires finds out that Beldar and his family are not legal immagrints and that their records were falsified back in ’93. Also include that the Emporor of the coneheads discovers that Beldar deceived them and a full scale invasion ensues.

The rest writes itself. With the current political and social climate of today. A Coneheads 2 could take on those issues in a clever and hilarious way. It doesnt have to be preachy or anything.. But it could lighten things up a bit! Poke a little fun at america at its current state.

With Chris Farley long gone. (Sadley)

I would cast Josh Gad

As the husband to Connie Conehead.

Bring back a lot of the original cast. Including Sinbad and David Spade, and keep the budget to a 10 to 15 million.. Heck! It can go straight to Netflix if they want to. That would be just as cool. And they could have a massive comedy hit!

Anywho.. Thats just my thoughts on the matter..

HEY! Mr. Aykroyd.. Get started on this PLEASE!!

Until Next time folks.. Peace Out!

SPECIAL EDITION: “MY THOUGHTS ON.. SAN DIEGO COMIC CON 2017” Prt.2

Hello, Ladies and Gentelnerds and welcome to Prt. 2 of my special edition segment of “My Thoughts On..” Todays Topic?

TODD MCFARLANE IS DIRECTING THE SPAWN REBOOT!…( Finally!)

Now.. When i had first heard word of this.. My eyes went straight up Undertaker on me

Like.. “Really?! He’s STILL talking about doing a reboot? And he wants to direct it?! IF it does happen, its gonna be like what…a 5 hour movie?” I had very little faith in the report when i first heard it. Very little faith in Todd’s ability as a director. I just saw it as another Comic Con of him saying “Im gonna do it. Its gonna be great. I have a 500 page script ready to go. Its gonna be great!” the same thing he has been saying for many years now..

BUT! Then i dug a little deeper in to the story. Turns out, Jason Blum

founder and creator of BlumHouse Productions

The studio behind such films as..

And much more recent and highly acclaimed films such as..

WHIPLASH

SPLIT

GET OUT

Has joined with McFarlane to produce a R-Rated, modestly budgeted reboot of SPAWN!

The last time Spawn was seen on the big screen was (as of now) 20 years ago with Micheal Jai White in the starring role

With John Leguizamo co starring as The Clown/Violator

It was.. 1996-97.. I recently rewatched it on Netflix. The CGI, does not hold up at all!

Not in the slightest. The acting is.. C-grade at best. The action, is so-so. I was a kid when this came out and it will always hold a place in my heart. But it is time for an upgrade.

Spawn did have a very successful run on HBO with 3 seasons of an Animated Series.

If the new film is even remotely close to the darkness of the series, then they just may have a real winner.

But what really caught my attention, and actiually made me jump on board with Todd and this Spawn reboot.. Was Todd himself..

When the announcement was madeb Todd spoke with Collider  Video and Steve ‘Frosty’ Wientraub. (Video link will be at the end of this article… Dont you DARE skip ahead!.. Im almost finished..)

His thoughts and views on where he wants to take this movie and this story. How he plans to approach it. And his explinations as to why it took so long.. It sold me. He got me on board with this movie. I hope it turns out great.

HOWEVER! One thing that does concern me.. Todd stated that Sam and Twitch (mainly Sam) would feature heavily in the story. Which makes me wonder, what and how will this effect Kevin Smith’s ‘Sam and Twitch’ BBC Series?

Will they be completley seperating the two? Will it be connected? Im just curious.

What also excites me is, If this Spawn is successful. Blumhouse and Image could look in to an extended universe. Wicthblade?

The Darkness?

Hell! I want a fucking Haunt movie too!

So, here’s hoping Todd and Blumhouse are successful. Im excited. What do you folks think? Hit me up!

Heres that video i promised..

Until next time folks.. Peace Out!

“IT’S ALIVE!!: ‘HELLBOY’ Set To Return With R-Rated Reboot!”

A couple of days ago, Hellboy creator Mike Mignola announced on his social media that his baby boy, Hellboy will return to theaters with a R-Rated Reboot with a new cast, crew and writing staff. Further driving in the final nail in the coffin of Del Toro’s Run on the character along with (at this point) the one true Hellboy Ron Perlman

This news comes months after Del Toro himself made this announcment..

So, the Perlman Hellboy sails off in to the sunset. (That sucks!) But! Animation should STILL be an option for all associated with the original films.

Now, according to Mignola and Collider News, Mignola is among the writers behind the reboot. Directing will be “The Descent” Director, Neil Marshall. Even bigger news is the man who will be trying to fill the very large and impressive shoes of Ron Perlman,

David Harbour from “Stranger Things” and many other projects.

Looking at a side by side of the two

David is 6’2. He has a good built. He is still relatively young enough to bulk up and can go the distance of multiple films. He kinda has the chin. He is a really good actor. So.. He’s no Ron Perlman… But i can dig this casting.

The working title is “HELLBOY: RISE OF THE BLOOD WITCH” or something like that.. Again, it is a working title and no official announcment has been made.

Lastly, the fact that the Studio and everyone involved is approaching this with a R-Rated treatment, makes this project very intriguing for me.

Allow me to explain.

Way back when.. I had a Hellboy game for the PlayStation,

Not the most beautiful looking game. But! The story was pretty damn dark and spooky. Very gruesome and intense. Every aspect of the game was pretty darn spooky. Lets just say i did not play this game with the light off. (I was a kid! So sue me) Pure gamers will probably get on my ass about the lousy graphics and controls, but this isnt about the gameplay itself. Im referring to the enviroment the game presented. It was fucking dark! Del Toro’s Hellboy was very light in comparison. Not as dark and twisted. This R-Rated reboot could give Hellboy a chance to really let loose and be the character Mignola had created in the first place.

So, im hyped. Im happy Horn Head is getting another chance to grace the big screen, lets hope they do it justice and do it right. And most importantly, Make It Fun!

What do you folks think? Are you excited for a new interpretation of Hellboy? Hit me up!

Until next time folks.. Peace Out!

“R.I.P: HELLBOY 3!”

It is, with a heavy heart.. That I must report. It’s official, official, Official!
As reported by Guillermo del Toro, via Twitter..

HELLBOY 3, is officially, 100% dead!

This.. Sucks! Its not a surprise, but this sucks.

Del Toro has been going back and forth with Universal Studios for some time now, about getting Hellboy 3 greenlit. Unfortunately (as far as what has been reported and is known) Del Toro wanted too much money for the third film of the franchise.

Approximately 2oo+ million. And Toro was not looking to budge on that request. And we can not blame Universal and the other studios that could have been involved. (Heres a little history lesson)

HELLBOY (2004)

HELLBOY 2: THE GOLDEN ARMY (2008)

Both films.. Which I love dearly, and can watch multiple times, has not given the studio a successful financial return. Each grossing less then what they cost. Granted, DVD sales helped later on.. But Box Office Gross would have helped a lot more. We can also look at it from Toro’s POV. He has helped Universal make lots of money with his most recent works. PASIFIC RIM comes to mind. So he’s intitled to ask for some good amount of money to make his vision for the final film come to life.

Now, perhaps Del Toro brought his asking price down (maybe) Which would have been a smart movie. However.. Its been.. 9 long years since HB2. Perhaps.. Just perhaps.. If Universal is still interested with the Property. They probably feel like they can ReBoot! They have the advantage of time to help them move away from what came before. Which seems like a more reasonable choice on their behalf..

Although, personally.. I would have loved to have seen the continuation of HB & Liz

Probably my favorite love story in all of cinema. I would have liked to see what wpuld have happened at the very end. Would it have been a happy ending? I hope so.

Maybe Mike Mignola and Del Toro can take the final story to the Comic Book Page?! Or perhaps and Animated Film. CGI the damn thing. Im sure that would be cheaper then a live action film. And Ron Perlman wouldnt have to do too much under the make up and stuff.. (not that he did his own stunts or anything. But you get what i mean)

I wouldnt mind a ReBoot for Hellboy. It’s long over due. The BPRD has a massive universe in Dark Horse Comics. Mike has told so many stories. Maybe Universal should consider a small Hellboy Movie Universe. (HMU copyright and restricted by Me!)  However.. Before they do that.. Somehow, someway.. Give me HB3. Finish the story, and then.. Start from scratch.

Those are just my thoughts and feelings on the situation. How do you folks feel? Hit me up! Comment below, follow/subscribe. Thx for reading.

Until next time folks.. Peace Out!

“HOW THE X-MEN REBOOT SHOULD BE DONE!”

According to some geek news sites. 20th Century Fox announced that an ‘X-Men’ titled film is set to start filming early 2017. No other news was given. No casts. No director. Nothing.

As we all know, the X-Universe has also been slated for a reboot. So this news comes as somewhat of a surprise.

I’ve been planning on working on this article for sometime now and I’ve finally found some time to do it. So.. Here is, “How The X-Men Reboot should be done!”

First off! Don’t. Do. An. X-Men. Movie! 20th Century Fox should steer clear of the main X-title. Move on. Start anew. X-Factor should be (or should have been) the next series of films. Do like the comics..

Bring back the original team and give them a new name. Take the team that was set up at the end of ‘Apocalypse’

or a slightly revamped version of the team. But keep the main core team of Cyclops, Jean, Iceman.. We cant have Angel..

(thank you Bryan Singer)

And if Nicolas Hoult doesn’t return as Beast..

They have another Blue guy they can ‘Bamf’ to..

Nightcrawler. We can have Storm and Quicksilver part of the team as well..

Fox clearly dosent give a rats ass about Continuity.. But this needs to distance itself away from the old films and start anew in the right way. It really doesnt have to be a hard reboot.. Just distance themselves away from what came before, ever so slightly. Fox has a dependency on recycling the same suporting characters. Blob, Toad, Angel, Emma Frost, and lots of others. They need to go in another direction.

The X-Universe is Full of characters to utilize. Like Grayden Creed and the HLF (Human Liberation Front) Fabian Cortez and the Acolytes. The Storyline from Genosha.

Cameron Hodge. A scientist who later turns himself into a mechanical monster,

Bastion!

Could you image the kind of storyline they could have with a character like Bastion!? Or even the Nimrod Sentinal!
There really are plenty of stories and characters they can use and develop over several X-films. They just need to distance themselves from the title X-Men for a few years. Develope the rest of the universe. X-Force, New Mutants, Xcaliber. There are plenty to choose from.

Also.. Leave Wolverine alone for awhile. Give more time and attention to the rest of the characters.

BRAIN FART ALERT! if a hard reboot is thier idea.. Do it Terminator style.. Nimrod is sent back in time to kill Scott and Jean Grey and Cable comes through to protect his parents. Without telling them that they are his parents. And they are crucial to the future of Mutant Kind. Do some time hoping a little and they could very well change the entire timeline.. Even more then Days of Futures Past did. Thats a total Nerds Wet Dream.. But it was the best thing i could think of at the moment.

So, What do you folks think Fox should do to reboot the X-Universe? Share your ideas, follow/subscribe/ comment Something!

Until next time folks.. Peace Out!

“GHOSTBUSTERS(2016) MOVIE REVIEW: SOME SPOILERS INCLUDED”

So, I’ve FINALLY found the time to watch the new GHOSTBUSTERS remake/reboot, starring the all female cast of Kristen Wig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Melissa Mcarthy, and as a diehard GB fan.. I really liked it!

THE STORY: When increasing paranormal events arise in New York, 3 scientists set out to investigate. Uncovering a plot that threatens the very fabric of reality.
The story is solid. The humor and action is on point. The special effects are not as cheapish as the trailers showcased. In the environment they appear in, suits the design and apperances of the ghouls and ghosts. The plot actually inkeeps with the Ghostbusters franchise. It doesnt make you think too hard, its not a psychological ride. Its, “Here are the players, here is the bad guy, this is whats happening, and this is how it all comes together.” very simple. It reminded me of a cross between both Original Ghostbusters films.  Re-Representing a lot of story elements.

The nods to the past were really cool too. The humor was perfect. Its not slapstick and stupid, although there is a fart joke thrown in. Some of the cameos of the original guys were.. Okay… (more on that later)

THE CAST: Fantastic across the board. I loved These ladies. They are a very suitable replacement to carry on this new franchise.

Im not the biggest fan of Leslie Joneses comedy character. She feels very one note for me, “Im big, loud and black” BUT! She was great. She did not take me out of the film at all. She was actually very fun and funny.

I love Kate McKinnon. I’ll watch her do anything. Right now, she is my new Kristen Wig (oddly enough) on SNL. Since Wigs departure, Kate has been my girl. I would watch her do anything.

Kristen Wig. Perfect. She’s kind of our.. Bill Murray character in this movie and she makes it her own though.

Melissa Mcarthy, Great. Shes always comedy gold. I grew to love Melissa in SPY, her last teaming with Director Paul Fieg before Ghostbusters. She is awesome.
THE POSITIVES: I had a whole lot of fun with this movie. Its was funny. It had really good action. The special effects was great. And the cast was Top Notch! The cast is what really sold me on it, and the plot was actually a ribbon to tie it all together.

THE NEGATIVES: This is where i get into some spoiler territory. But first.. Some of the edditing was off, i found certain cuts and edits that didnt sit well for me.The characters all felt like they were all very quarky. Not all of them needed to be the ‘weird’ or ‘awkward’ one. Kate could have done that on her own. The thing about the original, is that they had someone funny, but still grounded in the Bill Murray Character, Peter Venkman.

Akroyds, Stantz was the true believer and Ramis’, Egon was the Science guy. All funny but clearly different characters. All the ladies were awkward and funny at the same time. They worked great together. But there was no flavor.

The Cameos.. Were, ok at best. It was fun seeing everyone. But thats all it was. There was no heart behind them being there. They kill off Bill Murray’s character, Akroyd is a taxi driver, and at the last minute they shoe horn Ernie Hudson as Leslie’s Uncle and Sigourney Weaver as Kate’s mentor, at the very very end of the movie.

My ONE and most major complaint with this movie.. It should have been a direct sequal. This SHOULD have been Ghostbusters 3! It would have fit in so well following the first two.

That kind of really made me mad. The movie was so good, at least for me, that it deserved to be a direct follow up.

OVERALL: No where near as bad as people made it out to be. It was actually very good and entertaining. I say, if you havent seen it because of what others say. Dont let that stop you. Make your own choices. Who knows, you might like it! I know i did.. I give, GHOSTBUSTERS a.. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 6/10. Its really entertaining and fun. A film worthy of the title. And i really do hope we get a sequal. Why? One word.. “ZOOL” (Is that how its spelled?!?) I want Leslie’s Patty to be the one to get possesed by Zool.

So… Did you see Ghostbusters? What did you think? Please comment below and let me know. Please follow/ subscribe. Thank you for reading..

Until next time folks.. Peace Out!
