SPECIAL EDITION: “MY THOUGHTS ON.. SAN DIEGO COMIC CON 2017” Prt. 3

Ok folks.. Im thinking this will be the final installment in this special edition “My Thoughts On.. Sand Diego Comic Con 2017”

In this article, we’re gonna take a look at “AVENGERS:INFINITY WAR”

Well… What can be said about the Infinity War presentation?.. Not much honestly. They showed the same trailer from D23 at Comic Con. Still no official release from Marvel or Marvel Studios. Although a leaked camera phone quality version is available online. Its not bad.. But, WTF Marvel?! Whats the hold up?!

Besides that. As I am slowly writing this article, News was announced that Brolin’s Thanos will return for the as of yet “Untitled” Avengers 4.

Some folks still believe that perhaps Infinity War will be a one and done thing. But i honestly believe that Avengers 4, will be ‘Infinity Gauntlet’.

[SPECULATION MODE: ACTIVATED]

Infinity ‘WAR’ will be most likely the “War” for the Stones themselves. In the teaser trailer that was leaked. Thanos (spoilers) only possesses The Tesserect (space stone) Allowing him to travel from point A to point B. Im pretty sure they show a devestated Collectors vault, which Means he may also have The Ether (reality Stone). I believe there was probably a shot of a wrecked Nova Corp. So perhaps the power stone will be in play as well..

This whole film will be the formation of the Gauntlet.. The battle for the stones.

By the end of it all.. Thanos will raise his completed Gauntlet and.. Then..

“To Be Continued..”

Thats how Infinity War will end. At least thats how it should end.

Well.. I think that will just about do it for this special series.. Thank you all for reading.. Please leave a like, follow, comment.

Until next time folks… Peace Out!

SPECIAL EDITION: My Thoughts On.. “SAN DIEGO COMIC CON 2017” prt. 1

Greetings ladies and Gentelnerds, and welcome to a very special edition of “MY THOUGHTS ON..” that little article i do from time to time expressing my various thoughts and, sometimes, speculations on certain topics.

This series will focus on the news and stories that cane out this past San Diego Comic Con International 2017. Instead of a straight forward review on the event as a whole. I decided to break it up into parts to focus on a single topic at one time.

This first part i want to talk about the freshest thing on my mind at the moment, and that is..

It was a pretty quick presentation by Kevin Fiege, with not much pizzazz put into it. The film is very much in its early stages. But we did get very cool concept art reveals. Such as,

THE SUIT:

With a much clearer look at what Brie Larson would look like in the suit and what the suit would look like. Its very much a piece for piece recreation of the suit Carol Danvers wears in the comics today, without the scarf tied around the waist. It looks like it would be a beautiful thing to see on screen

THE “PLOT”(?)

Honestly. We don’t know a damn thing about the actual plot. But what Fiege DID say, was that Captain Marvel will take place during the 90’s. Well before the events of the first IRON MAN. And co-starring with Larson will be her ‘KONG’ co star, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury

(Speculation mode: activate)

Perhaps we will see just exactly how Fury lost his eye,

‘Them ain’t no normal scars there broski!’

Also! Since this film will take place in the 90’s. Perhaps we will get a nice cameo of (Now Former) Head of S.H.I.E.L.D (Now Former) Hydra Operative- Donald Pierce?

Played Masterfully by Robert Redford in “CAPTAIN AMERICA: WINTER SOLDIER”

It would be really cool and would tie in to the rest of the already established universe. What’s also a plus, is that they wont have to use that fancy reverse ageing tech on Sam Jackson, brother hasn’t aged since “The Negotiator”

THE VILLAINS:

The Skrulls!!!

Hell fucking yeah!!

Probably the most comic to screen accurate translation I’ve ever seen. They look so damn bad ass!

If we look close at the promotional art released at Comic Con,

Carol Danvers is going to battle not only Skrulls, but also,

Kree Sentry’s or Soldiers, if you will.

Something i found very interesting.

It would appear that this story would put Carol smack dab in the middle of the Kree/Skrull war! Very exciting amd very interesting. There is still so much to anticipate to come from this movie.. Casting, Directing, plot.. Im so excited.

(BRAIN FART: what if this movie also introduces us to.. Richard Rider, aka NOVA!?

As powerful as Captain Marvel Is.. It wouldn’t be a surprise to me if she does get a little help taking on the Kree/Skrull’s.. Its just a thought..)

Many are quick to asssume that this will mean that a Skrull ‘Secret Invasion’ story line will be Avengers 4… My thoughts on that!?… Will have to wait for another time, in another blog.

But thats all i got in me for this one! Thank you so much for reading, please leave a like. Share with your friends, your family, your mail person. Your neighbors, even that wierd guy that sits outside smoking a cigarette as he watches you take out Your trash, and then gives you that weird nod when you notice him. Leave a comment! Do you agree? Do you disagree? Do you have a furry fetish? Either way.. Leave a comment! And above all else… FOLLOW THE DAMN BLOG FOR FUCKS SAKE!

Thank you so much for reading that extra long outro. Appreciate it.. So, until next time folks… Peace Out!

WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS: MARVEL/SONY’S “SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING”(SPOILER FREE)

Greetings Ladies and Gentelnerds! “WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS” is back.. Today’s movie?..

Ok.. Here. We. Go!

THE STORY: “Several months after the events of Captain America: Civil War, Peter Parker, with the help of his mentor Tony Stark, tries to balance his life as an ordinary high school student in Queens, New York City while fighting crime as his superhero alter ego Spider-Man as a new threat, the Vulture, emerges.”

I thought the story was a great story. The plot was surprisingly strong. I dont know who can get more credit when it comes to the story. Marvel or Sony. There are some elements that can point to where a Marvel idea was put in and where a Sony idea was put in. There are.. Element problems with the story (I’ll get to that later) But over all, a very good story.

THE CAST:

By far the best cast in a Spider-Man film. Ever! The two stand outs.. Tom Holland and Michael Keaton! Keaton actually was.. A god send for this film.

If he was not in this movie, as this character.. This would have been a completley different movie. I honestly believe he was the backbone of the movie. Tom was a fantastic Peter Parker and a very good Spider-Man.

With room to grow as that part of the character. Robert Downey jr. Was RDJ. What more can i say about him that hasn’t been said already. Morisa Tomai is a great version of Aunt May. They play up the idea of her being the ‘Hot Aunt’ very well. Zandaya

was a bright spot every time she was on screen. The other members of the supporting cast was good.

Very talented actors and actresses, played their parts perfectly.

THE POSITIVES:

Keaton. Keaton. Keaton. Keaton! I’ve never loved The Vulture, until now. He gave that character such.. Life. Such flavor. Such a soul! I rank Vulture just behind The Kingpin in the list of best Marvel Villans,

1: Loki

2: Kingpin

3: Vulture

4:Ultron

5:Red Skull

6: Zemo

Thats my list..

Tom Holland..

Brilliant. Just brilliant. Couldnt have asked for a more perfect Parker. With the added benefit of his Spider-Man of being able to grow and become the best Spider-Man since Maguire. Zandaya was great. The story. The characters. Although we never got this version of The Shocker.. (Spoiler?!)

The version we did get..

Was both interesting and fun!

Donald Glovers cameo..

Maybe a spoiler.. But heres a hint..

Very interesting.

The use of comedy was well played. It wasn’t a full blown comedy but there was a lot of comedic moments, all of them used appropriately.

And lastly.. The Twist with Vulture..

Very, very well played. Saw it coming at the moment it was coming.. But very well done and very well executed.

THE NEGATIVES:

Ned made me miss Harry Osborne. Not a knock on the actor. He was good. Just did not like the character. Annoying in my opinion. Used very well at the right times. But just.. Did not sit well with me. Maybe in the sequel? Hopefully I’ll get used to him.  Flash Thompson.. Not my Flash, but.. Okay, I’ll go with it. Diversity for the sake of diversity, isn’t always the best thing in my opinion. I could appreciate the freshness of this new Flash Thompson.. Just.. Idk.. Not what im used too, not what i was hoping for. But, I’m gonna go with it. And no.. It is not because of the race of the actor nor the look of the actor. It was the characteristics and the way he was presented that didn’t grab me. He could have at least bulked up or something. Do some pushups kid.  The “Other Twist”?… Fuck You! Reminded me of the shit Nolan pulled in ‘Dark Knight Rises’ Did not appreciate that and it stunk of Sony’s handiwork. A lot of the things i didnt like, felt like things Sony shoved in. I could be wrong, I dont know what was added by whom, but it just felt like things that were not necessary, was Sony’s doing. Spider-man was soo damn clumsy! I have never seen such a clumsy version of spidey, ever, in my whole life. I hated that. He seemed more comfortable in Civil War, taking on other superheroes, then he did swinging through the city. It was weird. Granted. I understand the fact that this is a 15 year old kid, and they are trying something different and new.. But damn! It was like watching George of The Jungle “Watch out for that tree!” Lastley, he seemed.. De-powered. Did not like that. He seemed slower for no apparent reason. I saw a severe lack of Spider-Sense. Like as if he didn’t have it. Hope they change that.

OVERALL:

The best Spider-Man film since, Spider-Man 2! A great time at the movies. A worthy addition to the MCU. A great movie. Not without its flaws, but what movie doesn’t have some of those. Also, be sure to stick around for both After credits scenes.. Totaly worth it! (😉😁)

I give “SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING” a score of 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 6/10. Absolutely Great! A must see!

Let me know your thoughts folks. What did you like, what didn’t you Like. Hit me up. Comment below. Please like and follow! Much appreciate you reading..

Until next time folks.. Peace out!

WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEW: Marvel’s “GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL.2”

Hello there ladies and gentelnerds! Long time no see. I gots lots of catching up to do seeing as to that I’ve been pretty ghost.. So why dont we start with a brand new edition of “WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS!” todays movie?..

“GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Vol 2”

THE STORY: Its been a few months since the first film and the gang are Guardians for Hire. After a job for an alien race known as The Sovereign and their leader Ayiasha.

goes sideways, The team find themselves on the run. With a little help from the Mysterious EGO, claiming to be Star Lords father. The team discovers just what it actually means to be Family! And that its not only blood that can bind people together.

The story in itself, honestly? Isn’t the strongest thing about the movie. Its what happens within the story that propels everything forward. Yondu’s story had much more going on, yet was not the main focus. The Father-Son story between Ego and Peter was.. I dont want to say forced, but it was rushed at some points and it wasn’t very strong. Kurt and Chris were excellent and did a great job with what they were given. It just wasn’t the strongest part of the film. The backbone and heart of the movie was the characters. You can tell it was the characters that James Gunn cared for and has a tremendous amount of respect for. So the main plot suffered for that fact just a bit.

THE CAST:

Fantastic! Wonderful! A true treat. Everyone was on point. Batista was a delight. They gave him so much more to work with and he ran with it. Micheal Rooker’s Yondu

has become probably my favorite character of the film, only second to of course..

BABY GROOT! My god he was so damn adorable. He stole my heart and every scene he appeared in.

Sylvester Stallone’s cameo (possible spoiler alert!) as…

Starhawk, was, surprisingly delightful. He could have easily mailed in a performance.. But he didn’t. He acted. He put his heart into it, and i really appreciate it! I would love to see him continue apperaing in the Cosmic MCU.

Kurt Russel’s EGO

was really cool. He played the role as true to character as they could make him. I really cant go too much further in to Ego without spoiling anything. But, Kurt was great.

Ayiasha of The Sovereign..

Too much to say that would border on being a spoiler. But she was very interesting. And i wonder if we will ever see her again. I would be interested in her return.

THE POSITIVES:

The Cast. Baby Groot. Yondu. The Cameos. Oh god! That Stan Lee cameo was fucking epic! I honestly can’t go in to it here.. But oh yeah… I will be digging deep in to that scene. The comedy was top tier. Dave Batista’s Drax was a comedic highlight. The deep cosmic cuts. The 5 or 4 after credits scenes were the best.

THE NEGATIVES: A surprisingly weak plot. The 2nd and 3rd acts was poorly rushed. The soundtrack, Awesome Mix Vol.2 isnt as strong (at least for me) as Vol.1. Non of the tracks stuck with me as much as the first ones did. But that could just be me. The movie would have benefited more from a longer run time.

OVERALL: Another Marvel Studios Masterwork. I cant say its better then the first film, but it can stand shoulder to shoulder with the first film. Its great. In comparison with other Marvel sequels, IE: Thor: The Dark World, Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3 and Avengers 2. Its better then all of those. Its a strong sequel. Not as strong as Winter Soldier, but its a great sequel. A Must See for everyone!!

I score “GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL.2” 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💫 8 and 1/2 stars.

What did you folks think of GOTG2? Hit me up! Comment below, leave a like and a follow. Thx for reading folks.

Until next time.. Peace Out!

Oh My God! How epic was that?!

Hela! She looks absolutely badass!

Gladiator Hulk looks straight out of the comics! (side note: The cgi doesnt look 100%. Could just be me.. It looks 85-90%. But this is the first teaser and the movie doesnt come out for another, 6-7 Months. Plenty of time to clean it up)

Im stoked. So fucking hyped for this movie. I want it now!

Thor: Ragnarok opens Novemeber 3, 2017.

WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEW: Disney’s “BEAUTY And The BEAST”

Greetings Ladies and Gentelnerds, and welcome to another addition of “WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS”

todays movie?.. (do you have to ask?)

“Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST”

 https://youtu.be/e3Nl_TCQXuw

THE STORY: Boy meets witch, acts like a dick and gets turned into a Beast, Girl’s dad does stupid shit and gets imprisoned by Beast, Girl takes dad’s place as prisoner, Girl gets Stockholm syndrom and falls for Beast, Beast learns what it means not to be a dick, They Fall In Love and.. Then he turns into a good looking dude and gets the girl.. “Tale as old as time” Really i debated on how i was going to do this review.. Is anything a spoiler? The story itself is like.. Hundreds of years old. The Animated Movie is like 20+ years old. Who the hell hasnt seen Beauty and The Beast?!

Whatever..
The story is great. Its not exactly a shot for shot, song for song remake of the original. But its really good. I enjoyed all the old stuff and really liked the additions to the story. I was hooked the moment the opening theme played. I liked the actual visualization of the ‘Enchantress’ and the curse she put on the prince. The special effects were great. The musical numbers really cool. Really, a great movie. Disney does it again.

THE CAST: Talent across the board. Great performances by those who were there. Great vocal performances by the non existent actors. The guy who played The Beast was cool.

Emma Watson…

Once i think i cant love her anymore then i already do.. She goes and gives me more to love. She can sing and she sings wonderfully. People should compare her to the original voice actress because that woman was a proffesional! Emma clearly has the pipes. But its not what she does. And what she does here was gokd enough for me. Emma was freaking awesome, and is honestly one of the only reasons i decided to watch this damn movie. Other then the curiosity/nostalgia factor.

THE POSITIVES: Emma Watson.

THE NEGATIVES:

Just joking. But Emma Watson was awesome!

Great acting. The CGI characters were cool. The music was on point. They really brought the movie to life beautifully. The ending was a bit of a surprise. I will not spoil anything.. But they changed the ending from the animated version. A drastic change, but not a bad change. It worked.

THE NEGATIVES: The Beast…

Was not terrible. The visual effects to create him was good.. Just.. I wouldnt have been mad if they used some practicle effects. He wasn’t very impressive for me. I understand the need to try and make this..

Look as real as possible.. But i think they could have done a mix of practicle and digital effects. Uhm.. Could have used more action in the final act. I remembered a more physical altercation between Beast and Gaston ( I could be mistaken) or at least they could have been more physical at that part. Oh! The “BE OUR GUEST” song.. Not a knock on Ewan Mcgregor’s singing voice.. But that rendition sucks compared to the animated film. I did not like it. The presentation was great, but lacked in the vocal department.

OVERALL: Yet another great addition to Disney’s live action remakes. They keep getting better and better. Leaves me with high hopes for their future remakes. Mostly Jon Favuro’s “LION KING” remake. I give “BEAUTY AND THE BEAST” a score of 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 6/10. Very Enjoyable, worth checking out!

Thx for reading folks. Have you seen Beauty and The Beast yet? What are your thoughts? Comment below, leave a like and please follow the blog.

Until next time folks.. Peace Out!

NETFLIX AND CHILL: Binge Watching ‘Marvel’s: IRON FIST’ (Season 1 Review)

Greetings Ladies and Gentelnerds! Welcome to a new instalment of “Netflix and Chill” After a very long wait, we finally got our Last Defender.

Marvel/Netflix launched “IRON FIST” This week and I’ve just completed my 3 day bingefest. (I do have a job so.. Thats how i binge. 3 episode’s a night got it done.)

THE STORY: After being thought long dead, Danny Rand returns to his Home in New York and his Buisness, ‘Rand Enterprise’. Now a skilled master of Kung Fu and the Newly minted Iron Fist, Danny must battle the evil Hand that infiltrated his families company from the inside.

The Story is not, oddly enough, the strongest thing about this show. Yet, somehow, everyone made it work. The characters and the actors that portrayed them, made it all work. Most of the Subplots helped make things a little more interesting. For example, While Danny was trying to sue for the rights to his company, Colleen’s cage fighting story was more intresting and intriguing. The storytelling had its ups and downs. Not completely solid. But there are several moments that keep you glued in for the next episode.

THE CAST: A great cast! Seriously. The cast was great. Everyone played thier parts peefectly. Characters such as Ward and Joy Mechum could have easily been a pair of Karen Page’s. Characters that could have easily been annoying and uninteresting, But the actors made them work and i actually gave a crap about them. Jennifer Hendwick’s Colleen Wing was a saving grace for most of the episodes. Rosario Dawson’s Claire aka Night Nurse.. Pointless. But, whatever! She was necessary in the fact that they needed to tie everything together. But overall, a great and solod cast.

THE POSITIVES:

Unlike the other Netflix shows, Iron Fist’s story is very linear and straight forward. It doesnt take a break for any actual unnecessary plot detours. The subplots tie in with the main story nicely. Again, The Colleen Wing character was a huge bright spot for the show. The action was great and well choreographed. Finn Jones was a great Danny Rand.

THE NEGATIVES:

The actual ‘Iron Fist’ is way too under utilised. When you calim to be as skilled as Danny Does, You should be smart enough to use the fist any and at all times. (Mental Note: This version of Danny Rand is still a noob at the whole, Being an ‘Iron Fist’ thing, that one can let the show slide for the way the character behaves and fights.) Speaking of the Iron Fist, he should have been able to use more then the one hand. Granted, he himself claims he had not completed his training with the Iron Fist. So he is still unaware of all that he can do with it. But its something that they should have included in the story. The Fights, as well choreographed as they were, The editing did not help. At this point.. Daredevil seems like a more capable fighter then Danny Rand. The directing and editing of the fights took too much away from what was going on. I feel, personally, The people behind Iron Fist should have contacted or used the same fight choreographers of Daredevil season 2 in combination with their own team, to put together much better Fights. They put too much time and focus on the “I am Danny Rand” part of the story. That ‘Mystery’ could have been solved in a lot less episodes. They put too much time into that. Not giving us a better look in to Danny’s life in Kunn’ Lun with Proper flashbacks was a missed opprotunity. Claire Temple.. Two too many episodes. No offence, i understand her importance to the Defenders, but she was there for too long in my opinion.

(THEORY: Claire will be to THE DEFENDERS, what Agent Coulson was to THE AVENGERS. Thats right! Im calling it from now. That one thread that tied all the Netflix shows and the Defenders together. Will die and that will be the catalyst that really unites the Defenders together.. There.. I said it!)

Final Negative. Iron Fist suffers as the others did.. A somewhat weak end. Non of the shows have had a strong close to the end of thier season like Daredevil season 1 did. DD season 2, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist all suffer from weak to unimpressive finishes. Despite having such a great run.

OVERALL: Marvel/Netflix do it again. Solid performances and a solid, straight forward storyline and great action helps Iron Fist push it to being one of the best shows in the lot. Nothing will ever top DD seasons 1&2. But Iron Fist comes pretty close. I give MARVEL’S IRON FIST season 1 a score of 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💫 71/2 out of 10. A Must Binge!

Have you folks completed your viewing of Iron Fist? What are your thoughts?

Until Next time folks.. Peace out!
