BREAKING NEWZ!!: “SONY ANNOUNCES MAJOR STAR FOR “VENOM” SOLO FILM!”

As you may have already heard. Sony has cast Venom for their stand alone film, scheduled for an October 2018 release.

As reported by COLLIDER NEWS’ John Campea (video link at the end of this article) Sony Pictures has cast TOM HARDY as Eddie Brock aka VENOM!

This is fucking HUGE for me right now. First talk of a stand alone Venom film with out any connection to Spider-Man was a pretty big “Fuck No!” from me. Then i thought about it further after hearing of the Black Cat/ Silver Sable film, i figured.. “Ok, Maybe.. But do it right..”

NOW.. Your telling me that you got Tom Fucking Hardy as Eddie Brock Venom?.. “FUCK YEAH BITCH!! Lets do this.”

Granted.. This does not fully guarantee that this is going to be the greatest movie ever. They still have that hurdle of making this story work with out Spider-Man. Best of luck to them. But this right here, is a fantastic move on their part.

MY THOUGHTS ON.. “The VENOM and BLACK CAT/SILVER SABLE Films In The Works At SONY PICTURES”

Earlier this past week Sony Pictures announced plans for a VENOM stand alone film, set to hit theaters sometime in 2018. And a possible BLACK CAT & SILVER SABLE team up film. Production and release date TBD.

I was busy with a fan fiction (The Killing Joke:Aftermath. For those of you curious) So i didn’t have time to touch on this bit of news.. But Now I Do..

Lets start with VENOM.

According to reports SONY has locked down the release date for October 5th, 2018 for the stand alone feature. Reports further stateing that the film will be a rated R outing, strictly seperate from the Spider-man Marvel/Sony MCU. Meaning the plan is for the movie to be a strictly SONY produced project, not jointly with Marvel Studios. Also meaning Spider-Man would not factor into any part of this story or ‘Venom-verse’ if you will.

I am.. Slightly worried about this. I am intrigued. But worried. The comic book puriest in me says, “The Fuck kind of bull shit is this?! You cant have Venom without Spider-Man!” on the other side of that coin, the movie fan says, “It could be a HUGE mistake, but worth trying. Lets see how it goes.”

So, I’m torn. We all know the true origin of Venom,

Eddie Brock was (and is again) the one true Venom. He spins right out of the pages of Spider-Man. Its hard to picture one without the other.

However, Eddie was not the only Venom. SONY could just as easily make an AGENT VENOM film..

Flash Thompson loses both his legs in battle during a war. Comes home and gets joined to the venom symbiot. That could work. Flash Thompson doesnt have to be exactly tied to Spider-Man because he’s such a secondary character. A historic and important character.. But still secondary non the less.

It has the slightest of chances of working. And if it does GREAT! But it also has the potential for failing miserably! Like Spider-Man 3 Venom did..

It’s 50/50 at this point. What does really kinda intrigues me though.. It will (probably) be rated R.. (probably).
That could work! Venom is that kind of character. That means that if a sequel comes.. Carnage is not far behind..

And Carnage can not be in a live action film and be toned down to a PG/ PG13 version. He has to be full of blood and gore! And the more i think of it.. The more im sold on the idea of a separate Spider-Verse.

Lets move on to the ladies..

BLACK CAT and SILVER SABLE!

Ones a world class thief, the other a world class mercenary for hire.. Out of these two film ideas, Venom and this one.. I am less torn on this one.. If done right.. This could be pretty darn cool. Felica Hardy is much like Flash Thompson, key character in Spider-Man history.. But completely secondary! She doesnt HAVE to be tied to Spider-Man in order for her character to shine.

Silver Sable is such a low teir character.. They could just about do anything with her. Just as long as they stay true to certain character traits, just to apease us fans.

I could see something along the lines of a more badass version of Rush Hour, 48 Hours, and Lethal Weapon.. But with Kick ass ladies in the drivers seat!

If they have the right story. The right people behind it.. This could be really fucking awesome.

Venom can go either way depending on the story and the people behind it. SS/BC could do the same, but with a lot less pressure on its shoulders as Venom does. Im interested. Im on board..

Lets see what you got SONY!

“BREAKING NEWZ!!: Marvel Studios Offers First Look At ‘AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR'”

Mere Hours ago, Marvel gave the world its first beautiful glimpse into “AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR”

Lets take a moment and (pun intended) ‘Marvel’ at what is currently in the works..

OHHHHHHHH!!! That my friends is the sound of a grown man.. Moistening his undergarments to an unimaginable depth..

SorryNotSorry

Now, very quickly. What stands out to me, was that we got, was our first look at certain possible concept art work of THANOS, and how he could be appearing in the film..

At the start, we got this nice shot of a set they shot on from Day One

My guess being a possible off planet location. Or a crash site for the Milano?

Three cast members giving us their quick thoughts on the journy they are looking forward to on this film..

Clearly from the same set. Also! want to point out.. RDJ is wearing his IRON MAN mocap suit. Pratt in his STARLORD gear.. And Mr. Holland.. In a down jacket?! We are getting a new Spidey Suit.. My hope is for the Black Costume. But most likely.. Maybe the Iron Spider Suit. Meaning hes in a special Mocap suit that shows off the design that the suit will look like.

But honestly.. Just seeing these three guys together on the same screen was oh-so Nerdgasmic!

NOW! Probably the BIGGEST concept Art Work that was shown, was of Rocket Racoon side by side with THOR!..

EPIC!!!

BUT!.. Anyone else notice something funny about this pic? Anyone? Lets take a closer look..

Still dont see it?.. Lets zoom in just a bit closer shall we..

THAT! My friends.. is NOT Mjlnor! So, possible Spoiler Alert!  Thor will Not get Mjlnor Back by the end of ‘RAGNOROK’ Now, thats just pure speculation on my part. And if im not mistaken, i think his loss of Mjlnor in Ragnorok is a plot point in the movie itself. I think that was announced in an official synopsis for Thor:Ragnorok awhile back. But!.. Just judging from this pic.. I dont think he hets it back. I think Thor is gonna be wielding an Axe in Infinity War.

So.. What are you folks thinking? Has this nice little inside look into Infinity War increased your Hype for this movie? What did you get out of this video package? Hit me up! Comment Below! Subscribe and Follow!

Thx for reading folks, Until next time.. Peace Out!

THIS JUST IN!.. ‘SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING’ OFFICIAL TRAILER!

JUST DROPPED MOMENTS AGO..

Ladies and Gentelnerds, “SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING” First official trailer..

“OFFICIAL SNEAK PEEK OF ‘SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING!'”

Just realesed mere hours ago, Take a look at our very first sneak peek at tomorrows trailer for Marvel (and sonys) “SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING”

On a scale of 1 to holy fucking shit, how excited are you for tomorrows full trailer?

“WHY 20TH CENTURY FOX, NEEDS TO CUT A DEAL WITH MARVEL STUDIOS!”

Yes.. I said NEEDS TO! This may come as a shock to some of you, ‘Loyal Readers’ as to that i was against The Marvel/Sony Spider-Man deal. I felt that, after the train wreck that was AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2. Marvel should have let Spidey die at Sony and then when the contract expired, Spidey would just end up back at Marvel with no cost at all.
When the Sony/Marvel deal was announced I had the feeling that Marvel was helping Sony keep something that rightfully belonged to Them. It was upsetting… THEN, CIVIL WAR happened..

And I’ve grown up since then. Or at least, I’ve grown some sense.
So now 20TH Century Fox is up shits creek with thier X-Men property and are currently considering a full series Reboot. Gut, fanboy instinct is to say, Give Them Back To Marvel! But.. The grown up, more knowledgeable fanboy says..

Marvel has a whole lot on its plate. Phase 3 is nearing its end and Phase 4 is still up in the air at this point. FOX, is not looking to part ways with a franchise thats garnered them so many millions of dollars over the years. They already lost STAR WARS. I dont think they want to give up on this property.

That being said.. If, indeed, Fox wants to hold on to The X-Men and its characters. They should. No. They Need, to consider a deal with Marvel Studios, to help them right thier ship and get on track. Whether its a trade of characters or property’s (ala Fantastic Four and related Characters *COUGH* silver surfer and galactus*COUGH COUGH*)

In order to insure a more bankable franchise.

FOX Needs to find someone who can guide the X-UNIVERSE in the right direction. Kevin Fiege is clearly the right choice. But he too has a lot on his plate.. And i firmly believe that Simon Kinberg

IS NOT the man for the job!
Perhaps, once Feige feels that Sony is going in the right direction and can handle the Universe that Marvel has brought Spider-Man into, on its own. Then maybe he can help Fox guide the X-Men later on down the line.

What Fox lacks in its X-Universe, is stability and continuity. Each movie is practically a stand alone film.

IF Fox were to strike a deal with Marvel Studios in order to make a more profitable X-Men Franchise for them and a more satisfying experiance for the fans. It would be the best thing they could do.
With yet another Franchise Reboot looming in the future.. Only time will tell what is in store for us and The X-MEN.

What do you folks think? Would it be wise for Fox to strike a similar deal with Marvel Studios like Sony, in order to save The X-Men? Please leave a comment below. Follow/Subscribe.

So, until next time folks… Peace Out!

“MY TOP 10:SUPERHERO MOVIE THEMES/SCORES!”

A Super hero theme song can make or break a film. Probably in the smallest sense. It takes a lot to make a Hero flick a success. Direction, Story, Acting and Costume Design are all major factors. But a good score/theme can do something so much more. If all the ingredients are on point, a good theme can take us back in to the film. Put us in the shoes or cape of our favorite heroes. It can make us feel Super! Make us Feel like we are more then who we are. Music is very Magical in that sense. (at least thats how i feel about it.)
With that in mind, I wanted to share with you my Top 10 Superhero movie themes/scores! (This time in actual order)

[WRITERS NOTE: This is why I dont do top 10 lists in any particular order.. I have had to revise this list several times already. Anyway.. Please enjoy!]

10. X-MEN (2000)

Composed by: Michael Kaman

It’s not exactly the famed intro of the 90’s animated series. But the X-Men movie theme comes pretty close in coolness factor. The moment it starts. You find yourself roaming the halls beneath the X Mansion, ready to suit up. As the current “Official” start of the superhero movie craze. X-Mens theme still holds up and is a fun listen.

9. IRON MAN (2008)

Composed by: Ramin Djawadi
When You think Iron Man movie soundtracks, ACDC usually comes to mind. Understandable, but this is about the Main Themes and Scores we are talking about here. Its not overly bombastic as most superhero themes. But the First Iron Man theme fit perfectly. Not only for the film, but for the character as well. At the first few cords, you feel like your in the designing stage of the suit itself. Then when you get towards the bridge, Boom! Your in the suit, flying around and kicking ass! Hence why it ranked at number 9 for me.

8. WINTER SOLDIER (2014)

Composed by: Henrey Jackman

After experiencing something like Captain America: The Winter Soldier, you would expect a Theme that would most fit the character itself. Perhaps a revamped version of the main theme from the first film?.. NOPE! Instead we are gifted with the beautiful tones that fit the Film as a whole and not just the character. It fit the tone, the atmosphere, what we had just witnessed. It is by far a perfect score for a single perfect film. I only wish Marvel would have kept it for Civil War.

7. AVENGERS (2012)

 Composed by: Alan Silvestri

Its not the biggest Super Theme, and its not generally connected with the film as a whole.. But the power of this song comes from that one moment.. That one moment (pictured above) All our dreams come true. The Avengers Assembled right there in front of us! For the first time Ever! That circling shot of each member as they prepare for battle. Ready to take on what comes next. It was Epic! Its forever synonymous with that One Scene! Just One Scene and it was perfection.

6. BATMAN (1989)

Composed by : Danny Elfman

You dont think Batman with out thinking of Danny Elfman’s amazing Batman March! Its the same theme that inspired the theme for the Animated Series. ( which Elfman himself composed as well) It doesnt exactly put you in the suit, persay (at least for me) but it puts you in the world. You are in Gotham City. You know the Bat is out there kicking ass and you are right there along for the ride. So strap in and hold tight!

5. SUPERMAN (1978)

Composed by: John Williams

What could i possible say about the Original Super Hero Theme!? Its magic! Its composed by the man that gave us the music of our geek lives. Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurrasic Park, E.T., Jaws just to name a few. Honestly.. I didnt remember that John Williams did the Superman theme until i was doing the research for this very blog. This is probably the very blueprint most of the composers on this list use when making a Score or Theme for this genre of film. You dont think Superman without thinking this theme song. From the very start, Your jumping into a phone booth and hopping out dressed as Superman and blasting off in to the sky, ready to save the day… Then you smile at the camera and soar off in to the distance.

4. THE DARK KNIGHT (2005)

Composed by: Hanz Zimmer

My man Hanz! The main theme for the film is called “Aggresive Expansion” (if i am not mistaken) However, in this case, I am choosing to go with a particular Score. Its called, “Agent Of Chaos” In the film, it is heard just after the interrogation scene between batman and joker, and its heard through the whole race part. Where Gordon and Batman are rushing to save Dent and Rachael. Honestly, parts of the score are heard throughout the film. But its mainly for that sequence of events. This piece of Music is so gripping. It not only transports you to that moment. But the constent slow build ups to the climactic finish is so damn gratifying. Give it a listen and tell me you dont feel like Batman on the batpod trying to get somewhere in time. It translates the character, the events, and the urgency of the scene so very well.

3. THOR (2011)

Composed by: Patrick Doyle

I. Love. This. Theme! Every 11 minutes and 45 seconds of it. It tells you the story. It puts you in to this crazy world of Asgard and demi-gods. Its adventurous. Sad. Triumphant all in one! I am so saddened that Marvel never used it again in the sequal. Which is a very terrible habit of Marvel Studios. They have such great moments of music for thier movies and they dont use it again. Its sad. Even if they were to do a remix of sorts for the follow up. It wouldnt have been a bad thing. But, alas, at least i have this song from one of my favorite Marvel Studios films.
2. SPIDER-MAN (2001)

Composed by: Danny Elfmen
Danny boy hits my list yet again with this gem right here. When those drums start, i am instantly transported to Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man. (the best spider-men film so far.. Waiting on Homecomming to most likely change that) It speaks volumes. When the high notes and the chorus comes in, your automatically web swinging over new york. During the low flows of drums and brass , your climbing up walls and skyscrappers. Its Awesome! Pure and simple.

Before I reveal my Numero Uno.. Heres a couple of honorable mentions!

“ENEMY” From AMAZING SPIDERMAN 2,

Although not a main theme for the film. It does feature a good chunk of it in the song. It was basicly Electro’s theme song. One i really do enjoy, even though the film itself was a total crap fest! A sad waist of a great song in my book.

And Secondly. WONDER WOMAN’S Main Theme! By Junkie XL and Hanz Zimmer,

We got a very delicious taste of WW’s theme in the climax of BVS during the Doomsday fight. And it was featured very heavily at the close of her recent SDCC Trailer and her WW logo came up. It gave me chills. And i cant wait to hear it again.

Finallly..

1. MAN OF STEEL (2011)

Composed by: Hanz Zimmer and Junkie XL!
These guys hit my list yet again! Say what you want about the movie itself.. But i must say, The Theme is so damn good! It actually kinda surpasses the original John Williams version just a bit for me. It inspires me. It puts me there. It makes me feel like there is and or was Hope! Not just from the movie stand point.. But in general. I am not referring to the theme that plays when he first flies.. But the Main Theme, with the subtle piano notes before the drums kick in, and the strings and horns come in.. It really moves me. I listen to it everyday. Its a very moving and epic piece of cinema music.

SO! Thats my list. Let me know your thoughts. Please comment below. Be a sweetheart and follow/subscribe to the blog while your at it. Thank you!

So, until next time folks.. Peace Out!
