WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS!”Marvel Studio’s ‘THOR: RAGNAROK'” (Small Spoilers Are Possible)

Greetings ladies and gentelnerds, and welcome back to “WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS!” Todays movie?.. Seriously? Do you have to ask?

“THOR: RAGNAROK”

THE STORY: “Imprisoned, the mighty Thor finds himself in a lethal gladiatorial contest against the Hulk, his former ally. Thor must fight for survival and race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home and the Asgardian civilization”

The plot. For what it is, and how it is presented, is great! Its simple and straight forward. Its not the strongest plot, in the sense of depth. But it’s a very entertaining story.

THE CAST:

The cast was on point. Everyone was clearly enjoying themselves and their roles and how they were playing them. Chris Hemsworth

.. I will say… Is on the level of Hugh Jackman. I can not see anyone else as Thor. Although Jane Foster Thor wouldnt be a problem for me.. But no one else can be Thor and he should play this role until the end of time.

Tom Hiddelston’s Loki was, of course, perfection. Although he didnt have much to do.

Cate Blanchett

Chewed the scenery every chance she had. Although not given a whole lot to do. She still made every scene count. She portrayed Hela Wonderfully.

Jeff Goldblum’s The Grandmaster..

What can i say?.. Are we sure he wasnt just playing a spaced out version of himself? It was brilliant. He was such a delight to have on screen and in this universe. I cant wait to see Him and Del Toro together as The Collector and Grandmaster respectively.

Tessa Thompson’s Valkyire

A breath of fresh air. Its nice to have another female ass kicker in the MCU. I want more of her.

Mark Ruffelo’s HULK!

This.. THIS! Is the Hulk I’ve been waiting for! I loved every bit of this hulk! He touched my heart in such a way.. It was perfect! This is the hulk i was talking about wayy back when i wrote this article πŸ‘‡

https://wp.me/p5F7r8-5a

I loved what they did with The Hulk and Mark’s performance was fantastic. I cant wait for whats to come.

The biggest surprise out of this movie tho..

Director Taika Waititi’s performance as.. KORG

A giant Rock monster with the voice of the sweetest New Zealand man. “Hey Man!” “Hey New Doug” some of my most favorite lines. I’ve never loved Korg so much. He stole the show for me.

THE POSITIVES: Great cast. Great characters. Good story. So much fun. The comedy was.. Perfect. So funny. Honestly, a very fun movie. The first Thor film is one of My favorites in the whole MCU.. Thor: Ragnarok has officially taken the place in front of that. The Kirby inspired universe was beautiful. The twist toward the end was.. Surprising to say the least. (I wont spoil that)

THE NEGATIVES: This Could be considered a spoiler.. But i must voice my opinion on this tho..

Hela.. Is NOT! The first born of Odin! She is not Thor and Loki’s sister.. That change to her character was completely unnecessary. So ridiculas. Hela was a great character in the movie. A good villain. Not given enough time.. At all.. She almost felt pointless. All of that power and it felt a little waisted. THIS… Is what they literally did with Hela..

It was a tad bit disappointing. Cate’s performance was Hela’s saving grace. They didnt give her enough screen time. I blame the tight run time. Unless thier saving her for future projects. But it was a bit of a waste. The only other negative i can think of, is the lack of emotional gravity at certain points. (SPOILER) ppl die in this movie.. Important ppl… And there is no emotional connection to it at all. Its boom. Boom. Boom. Dead, dead, dead, moving on! It didnt take me out of the movie at all. But it was noticable enough for me to be like.. Eh! Thats not nice.

OVERALL: Best Thor since the first one. Best Marvel film since.. Civil War.(?) Best Third Instalment of a series.. Since Civil War. (Maybe I’ll do an actual ranking for these movies soon)

THOR: RAGNAROK is a wonderful movie. Fun. Funny, and action packed. A definite Must See for any and all fans! I give THOR:RAGNAROK A score of 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 8 out of 10. Just because its so much Fun.

NETFLIX AND CHILL: BINGE WATCHING- “MARVEL’S: THE DEFENDERS”

“Come, as you are. As You were, As i want you to be!”

It has finally arrived, Ladies and Gentelnerds! ‘THE DEFENDERS’ is now streaming on Netflix. All 8 fantastic episodes!..

Wait.. 8?!

Lmfao!

Honestly. Didnt really bother me.. But i digress. It took me about 2 and a half days to binge it. And its taken me about, twice as long to get started on this Review.. Btw.. Some Spoilers are bound to happen. So if your one of those weird, one epsiode a day type of streamer? You’ve been warned.. Weirdos!

THE STORY:  When The ancient order of THE HAND set the final part of their plan to end New York into motion, DAREDEVIL, LUKE CAGE, JESSICA JONES and IRON FIST must band together to save the city!

It is not.. The.. ‘Strongest’ part of the Defenders. Its a good story non the less.. Its actually the characters themselves that helps and carries the whole thing! Honestly, its the characters and the actors that draw you in and kept you there. The story could probably have been more effective if it had the chance to breath. Rushing it with the 8 episode limit, kinda fucked the story by the end of it.

THE CAST: Every single of the actors, totally fucking rocked it! Thats what helped the Defenders be the epic thing it turned out to be. The characters! Charlie Cox, Mike Coultur, Kristen Ritter and Finn Jones were fabulous. They were fantastic. Every moment they had on screen. Every moment they are together. Is what made the whole thing work.

(Spoiler Territory approaching)

Sigourney Weaver’s ‘Alexandria’

Was.. Disappointing.. She had Kingpin potential. But they kinda dropped the ball on her and i blame that on the 8 episode limit. Given time, she could have been a great Villain. (More in the negatives section)
Elektra’s return was cool

And well played. A lot of obvious things came out of her story.. Saw it coming right away. But it was Fun for the most part.

THE POSITIVES:

The Crew! I want a season 2 with these people so bad.. Even if they just sit in a room talking or not talking. But in costume. I dont care. I could watch these people do anything. They were the greatest thing ever! Individually, together. The chemistry was awesome. The bright side of the 8 ep. Limit helped speed along the banding together aspect of the show. That was one thing that did not need to be dragged out.

They also mixed the different show styles together seemlesly. The transition scenes from character to character worked wonderfully.

Madame Gao.. Was badass!

The supporting cast was great too. I will say this.. Again (SPOILERS!) The numerous endings that basicly promotes the individual series’s future to come, was great.. It made me excited for Iron Fist Season 2. Guarantee you we get a costume! Luke Cage S2 is gonna be exciting. Jessica Jones S2 is gonna be badass.. BUT!

THE NEGATIVES: The numerous endings was.. EH!? Ok.. It was cool.. Could have been better. But it was ok.

Alexandria as a villain was so damn bland. They dropped the ball on that one. They painted her as the next Wislon Fisk, and they took it nowhere. She was supposed to be this badass ancient leader of the Hand, and she fell so flat. There were hints of badassery.. (Is that even a word?) and menace.. But there was no payoff.

Needed more ninjas! In hindsight, for a Ninja Clan of assassins.. There were a lot of basic henchmen in this series.. Like.. Wtf? Where are the Ninjas!?

Killing off Stick… Uhhm.. Not ok. They could have had his character last beyond this series for a while longer.. But, this is the MCU.. Nobody really stays dead for long. We’ll just have to wait and see.

The 8 eps. Limit.. Cool for the lack of dragging a storyline unnecessarily. But fucked the plot to a degree as in, i couldnt care less. Just give me the Defenders kicking ass! And it fucked the story and hindered the growth of certain characters. I guess it’s like “Damned if you do. Damned if you dont” for Netflix. It worked but didnt work at the same time.

Not much else negativly about the show comes to mind at the moment.. So

OVERALL:

THE DEFENDERS is one hell of a fun ride! Short. But Fun. Come for the Characters, Stay for the Characters. It was a great blend of the different genres they represented. It is just plain.. FUN! A true Joy to watch. Can’t wait for a season 2, and the continued adventures of the individual characters.

I give MARVEL’S “THE DEFENDERS” a score of.. πŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸ’« 6 1/2 out of 10! Pure, badass fun! A must Binge for Marvel/Netflix Fans!

Thanks for reading folks. Please leave a comment. A like. A follow.. Just an overall fact that you were here at all would be nice.

Until next time folks.. Peace out!

WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS!: “LA LA LAND” vs “MOONLIGHT” (The Best Picture Debate prt. 2)

Welcome to the second Part to the ‘Best Picture Debate’ that I have with myself between “LA LA LAND” and “MOONLIGHT”. Part 1 was a review of Moonlight, This one..

“LA LA LAND”

THE STORY: A jazz pianist falls for an aspiring actress in Los Angeles..

Just want to say quickly…

FUCK YOU LA LA LAND!! FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! And FUCK YOU!

It is a simple story. They meet cute. They fall in love. Careers start growing and failing and then… FUCK YOU LA LA LAND!

Ok.. Im gonna be as honest as possible. First 10-15 minutes.. Wasn’t really feeling it much, besides the opening dance/song number. (loved it enough to download it to my mp3. “Another Day Of Sun” great song. Catchy beat.) Anyhoo.. Then Ryan Goslings character showed up and everything was going great!

I think i may have a Man crush on Ryan Gosling.. (thx a lot La La Land.. Fuckers!) Anyways.. The whole Love Affair between Emma and Ryans’s character was awesome and beautiful. Loved every minute of it! But then shit started getting shitty.. 1.. Just 1 bad desicion on Ryan’s part fucked things up and then things got good. Then things went fucking sideways.. I hated the ending.. I hated it! That is why i say.. “FUCK YOU LA LA LAND! And your little 12 year old looking Director.. FUCK YOU!”

SPOILER ALERT!!

THEY DON’T END UP TOGETHER! There.. I said it.. They gave me a beautiful love story, and they ripped my heart out!

THE CAST: A wonderful cast. Ryan is a fucking star. He should have won best actor at the oscars. I have a feeling he’s going to be another Leo DiCaprio. Great performance after great performance, nomination after nomination.. And then finally, when he does a pretty good role aftdr a really great one, He’ll win an Oscar. Emma Stone.. She was alright. Dont think she deserved the Oscar though.. And in honesty. I hated her character. If and When you see it.. I think you’ll understand why. But she was okay.
THE POSITIVES: There is a reason why these types of movies arent made anymore.. Because Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire and all those stars of that bygone era, are Dead! These movies died with them. It was nice to see it here. Even for just a bit. The dance numbers were cool. The music was great. The story.. *sigh* was wonderful. For the most part.

THE NEGATIVES: That Fucking ending though! Ruined the whole damn thing! Kinda.. But yea.. It fucking sucked.

OVERALL: “LA LA LAND” is in fact a beautifully shot and well paced movie. Acting. Style. It was a good movie. The ending however.. Kinda hurt it for me.. I give La La Land a score of 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟6/10.

Keeping in mind how both films made me feel and the experience they gave me respectively.. I believe, “MOONLIGHT” desreved the Best Picture Oscar. From Beginning to End it had me focused and in to the story. La La Land wasn’t that consistent for me. Opening Number aside, i did not care about the beginning of the story until midway through it. The middle was the best part. The end ruined it for me. It pulled the rug right out from under me. And I honestly did not appreciate that about the film.

Both.. Beautiful film and movies are better off for having them exist.. But, Moonlight deserved the win in my book.

What do you folks think?! Hit me up!

Until next time folks… Peace Out!

WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS! “MOONLIGHT” vs “LA LA LAND” (The Best Picture Debate Prt.1)

Greetings Ladies and Gentelnerds, and welcome to a Special Edition of WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS!

Every since the Oscars Best Picture debacle,

I found myself very curious about these two films. “Did The Right Movie Win?” My hat was not in either of thier respective corners, but i have been interested in watching them in my own time. But i wanted to answer this question to myself. So This week is gonna be a two part movie review.

I saw “Moonlight” First. So.. I will start there. (SPOILERS POSSIBLE)

THE STORY:
A chronicle of the childhood, adolescence and burgeoning adulthood of a young black man growing up in a rough neighborhood of Miami.

The story structure itself reminded me a lot of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ as in, How it told a period of time in the life of the main character throught the years of his life. From Childhood, Teen age and Adulthood. It is a solid film. From beginning to end. It opened my eyes to the African American Gay Community, and how difficult it could be for a black man to be comfortable with who they are when thier own community can be so against them. Its sad and frustrating to see, even as a straight hispanic man. I have a 1 favorite part in the whole film.. After being beaten by a close friend because of the cowardly workings of a school bully, The main character comes back to school the next day, and cracks the bull upside the back with a chair! I loved every second of that scene.

THE CAST:  is in top form. Mahershala Ali’s character.. Was, unfortunately, in the film for a very short period of time. The main character, (Known as Little, Chiron and Black through the three stages of his life) Played by Alex R. Hibbbert (Little) Ashton Sanders (Chiron) and Trevante Rhodes (Black) was the key focal point while every one else felt more like players in the story. That is not to say the acting wasn’t wonderful.. It just, for me, i didnt care as much about them.

THE POSITIVES: Great Story. Solid acting. Great pacing. Nicely shot and directed. Great Message.

THE NEGATIVES: The director had an annoying habit of shooting certain scenes in a constant, one take circle. I almost felt dizzy. Some bad editting choices at certain parts. Mahershala Ali should have had a much more longer, more prolific role. He deserved the Oscar.. But i wanted more.

OVERALL:
A beautiful film. An important film. All around well done. I give “MOONLIGHT” a score of 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 7/10. Worth seeing for any socially conscious Human Being!

Stay Tuned For Prt 2. “LA LA LAND”

Until Next time folks.. Peace Out!

MY THOUGHTS ON.. “The Future Of Logan and X23!” (WARNING: Logan Movie Spoilers Ahead)

Logan is dead.. There.. I said it!
Someone asked me (@anarchyanthon on twitter) Would I want to see a follow up to Logan, that followed Laura (x23)?

I said.. “I wasnt sure” I had just seen the movie and the wounds were still freash. Now, i am a few days removed and i can honestly say.. “No!”

Whats done is done. LOGAN ended perfectly. It would be a shame to try and follow such a fitting conclusion to Wolverine’s story.

Thats not to say Fox should be done with X23. Not at all. They should be done with this version of her though. This version of X23 has served her purpose.

Dafne Keen was perfect. She played the part beautifully. But i think we can step away for now.

Fox, should let us deal with the events of Logan. Rest. Regroup. And within the next 5 years, maybe.. Just maybe.. We will be ready for a fully grown, full fledged Laura Kinney, X23 aka The All New Wolverine!

Back in the day, i posted a possible way they could introduce her and Daken (Wolverines son) in to the X-Men Universe.. You can check it out here πŸ‘‡

β€œTHE WOLVERINE LEGACY: WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN IN THE NEXT X-MEN SERIES!” (APOCALYPSE SPOILERS POSSIBLE… – http://wp.me/p5F7r8-tv
which weirdly enough.. We kinda got Daken in ‘Logan’ (Spoiler Alert!) The bad guys create another clone, X24 which looks just like Logan, but full of berserker rage! A mindless killer.

The bonus ending of ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ featured Essex Corp. Mr. Sinister’s company. The scene that showed a mysterious individual taking Wolverine’s blood  from Alkaline Lake. Non of that played into ‘Logan’. No Essex Corp. No, Mr. Sinister. Nothing. Perhaps they will hold on to that pay off in a future movie? I think that would be best. Unless they completley scrap that idea. Then that would be yet another dumb ass decision by Fox.

Hugh.. Is done. Wolverine.. Is, for now.. Gone. In a few years. We move on to X23, have Wolverine as just a faceless figure who hangs around in hushed voices and fond memories. He’s out there. But we dont have him on screen for a while. Lets focus on X23.

Those are just my thoughts. Let me know what you think. Hit me up, comment below. Please like and follow the blog. Thx for reading folks.

Until next time.. Peace out!

“200 BLOGS AND COUNTING!Whats Happened and Whats To Come..”

This article marks my 200th Blog on this here website.
200.. Wow.

I had posted on my twitter page the fact that i was 2 posts away from 200, and i asked ‘What should I write About in My 200th Blog?’ I received great suggestions and ideas.

‘Is DC’s Cinematic Universe Doomed to fail?’

‘A top 10 list of most anticipated 2017 movies.’

Just to name a few. Those are ideas i will be discussing in future blogs. But there was one idea i wanted to use today.

“Talk about the future.”

A retrospective if you will.

Well.. I started this blog in, oh about, 1803. Jefferson was looking to make peace with the British and Benjamin Franklin was still being a douche bag about the whole lightning bullshit!.. So i thought i’d put my thoughts and feelings down on this electronic parchment.

Ok.. That was an outdated joke, but i took a swing at it. I think it was a base hit.. Right?

Anywhoo. I did start this blog, to really open myself up and express my feeling on things that i actually gave a shit about. Granted, I’m not on par with the big guys like Collider News, Moviepiolt, ComicBookMovie News, Heroic Hollywood just to name a few. I dont jump on the most up to date Geek News. I dont go for the “Click Bate” stuff. I try and be as honest as i can and be on point with what i write about. I’m not first on the scene and i am not chuck full of exclusives.

BUT! some how, some way. I’ve gotten some peoples attention. As it stands, TheMarvelIncBlog has gotten a good share of views and followers. Starting back in 2015

Stats that grew a good deal in 2016

So far.. 2017 is looking just as good,

I Have a great set of followers,

So straight up, THANK YOU ALL SO VERY VERY MUCH! I appreciate any and all support!

This is where the blog stands at the moment. 11,009 Views, and 6,681 visitors. I am truly greatful!

So whats the plan for the future?

My dream is to be a Comic Book Writer and Movie Screenwriter. So my hope is that my Fan Fiction Stories would get me noticed by the big two (Marvel and DC) still keeping my fingers crossed on that part. So, fan fictions are still going to be a feature on the blog.

More Movie Reviews. And.. Lets face it.. I ain’t changing a damn thing. Everythings still gonna be the same. Like they say, “If It aint broke.. Dont fix it!”

But i will ask you all this.. WHAT DO YOU THINK I SHOULD ADD OR TAKE OUT FROM THE BLOG? Hit me up!

Thx for reading! heres to another 200!

Until next time folks.. Peace Out!

“GHOSTBUSTERS(2016) MOVIE REVIEW: SOME SPOILERS INCLUDED”

So, I’ve FINALLY found the time to watch the new GHOSTBUSTERS remake/reboot, starring the all female cast of Kristen Wig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Melissa Mcarthy, and as a diehard GB fan.. I really liked it!

THE STORY: When increasing paranormal events arise in New York, 3 scientists set out to investigate. Uncovering a plot that threatens the very fabric of reality.
The story is solid. The humor and action is on point. The special effects are not as cheapish as the trailers showcased. In the environment they appear in, suits the design and apperances of the ghouls and ghosts. The plot actually inkeeps with the Ghostbusters franchise. It doesnt make you think too hard, its not a psychological ride. Its, “Here are the players, here is the bad guy, this is whats happening, and this is how it all comes together.” very simple. It reminded me of a cross between both Original Ghostbusters films.  Re-Representing a lot of story elements.

The nods to the past were really cool too. The humor was perfect. Its not slapstick and stupid, although there is a fart joke thrown in. Some of the cameos of the original guys were.. Okay… (more on that later)

THE CAST: Fantastic across the board. I loved These ladies. They are a very suitable replacement to carry on this new franchise.

Im not the biggest fan of Leslie Joneses comedy character. She feels very one note for me, “Im big, loud and black” BUT! She was great. She did not take me out of the film at all. She was actually very fun and funny.

I love Kate McKinnon. I’ll watch her do anything. Right now, she is my new Kristen Wig (oddly enough) on SNL. Since Wigs departure, Kate has been my girl. I would watch her do anything.

Kristen Wig. Perfect. She’s kind of our.. Bill Murray character in this movie and she makes it her own though.

Melissa Mcarthy, Great. Shes always comedy gold. I grew to love Melissa in SPY, her last teaming with Director Paul Fieg before Ghostbusters. She is awesome.
THE POSITIVES: I had a whole lot of fun with this movie. Its was funny. It had really good action. The special effects was great. And the cast was Top Notch! The cast is what really sold me on it, and the plot was actually a ribbon to tie it all together.

THE NEGATIVES: This is where i get into some spoiler territory. But first.. Some of the edditing was off, i found certain cuts and edits that didnt sit well for me.The characters all felt like they were all very quarky. Not all of them needed to be the ‘weird’ or ‘awkward’ one. Kate could have done that on her own. The thing about the original, is that they had someone funny, but still grounded in the Bill Murray Character, Peter Venkman.

Akroyds, Stantz was the true believer and Ramis’, Egon was the Science guy. All funny but clearly different characters. All the ladies were awkward and funny at the same time. They worked great together. But there was no flavor.

The Cameos.. Were, ok at best. It was fun seeing everyone. But thats all it was. There was no heart behind them being there. They kill off Bill Murray’s character, Akroyd is a taxi driver, and at the last minute they shoe horn Ernie Hudson as Leslie’s Uncle and Sigourney Weaver as Kate’s mentor, at the very very end of the movie.

My ONE and most major complaint with this movie.. It should have been a direct sequal. This SHOULD have been Ghostbusters 3! It would have fit in so well following the first two.

That kind of really made me mad. The movie was so good, at least for me, that it deserved to be a direct follow up.

OVERALL: No where near as bad as people made it out to be. It was actually very good and entertaining. I say, if you havent seen it because of what others say. Dont let that stop you. Make your own choices. Who knows, you might like it! I know i did.. I give, GHOSTBUSTERS a.. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 6/10. Its really entertaining and fun. A film worthy of the title. And i really do hope we get a sequal. Why? One word.. “ZOOL” (Is that how its spelled?!?) I want Leslie’s Patty to be the one to get possesed by Zool.

So… Did you see Ghostbusters? What did you think? Please comment below and let me know. Please follow/ subscribe. Thank you for reading..

Until next time folks.. Peace Out!
