SPECIAL EDITION: “MY THOUGHTS ON.. SAN DIEGO COMIC CON 2017” Prt.2

Hello, Ladies and Gentelnerds and welcome to Prt. 2 of my special edition segment of “My Thoughts On..” Todays Topic?

TODD MCFARLANE IS DIRECTING THE SPAWN REBOOT!…( Finally!)

Now.. When i had first heard word of this.. My eyes went straight up Undertaker on me

Like.. “Really?! He’s STILL talking about doing a reboot? And he wants to direct it?! IF it does happen, its gonna be like what…a 5 hour movie?” I had very little faith in the report when i first heard it. Very little faith in Todd’s ability as a director. I just saw it as another Comic Con of him saying “Im gonna do it. Its gonna be great. I have a 500 page script ready to go. Its gonna be great!” the same thing he has been saying for many years now..

BUT! Then i dug a little deeper in to the story. Turns out, Jason Blum

founder and creator of BlumHouse Productions

The studio behind such films as..

And much more recent and highly acclaimed films such as..

WHIPLASH

SPLIT

GET OUT

Has joined with McFarlane to produce a R-Rated, modestly budgeted reboot of SPAWN!

The last time Spawn was seen on the big screen was (as of now) 20 years ago with Micheal Jai White in the starring role

With John Leguizamo co starring as The Clown/Violator

It was.. 1996-97.. I recently rewatched it on Netflix. The CGI, does not hold up at all!

Not in the slightest. The acting is.. C-grade at best. The action, is so-so. I was a kid when this came out and it will always hold a place in my heart. But it is time for an upgrade.

Spawn did have a very successful run on HBO with 3 seasons of an Animated Series.

If the new film is even remotely close to the darkness of the series, then they just may have a real winner.

But what really caught my attention, and actiually made me jump on board with Todd and this Spawn reboot.. Was Todd himself..

When the announcement was madeb Todd spoke with Collider  Video and Steve ‘Frosty’ Wientraub. (Video link will be at the end of this article… Dont you DARE skip ahead!.. Im almost finished..)

His thoughts and views on where he wants to take this movie and this story. How he plans to approach it. And his explinations as to why it took so long.. It sold me. He got me on board with this movie. I hope it turns out great.

HOWEVER! One thing that does concern me.. Todd stated that Sam and Twitch (mainly Sam) would feature heavily in the story. Which makes me wonder, what and how will this effect Kevin Smith’s ‘Sam and Twitch’ BBC Series?

Will they be completley seperating the two? Will it be connected? Im just curious.

What also excites me is, If this Spawn is successful. Blumhouse and Image could look in to an extended universe. Wicthblade?

The Darkness?

Hell! I want a fucking Haunt movie too!

So, here’s hoping Todd and Blumhouse are successful. Im excited. What do you folks think? Hit me up!

Heres that video i promised..

Until next time folks.. Peace Out!

WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS: ‘OSCARS 2017’ A Short Recap!

Lets me be honest.. I watched The Walking Dead, more then i watched This Years Oscars. But i switched back once TWD was finished and caught one hell of a show..

I’ll keep this short and sweet.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: Viola Davis for “Fences”

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR: Mahershala Ali for “Moonlight”

BEST DIRECTOR: Damien Chazelle for “La La Land”

BEST ANIMATED FILM: “Zootopia”

BEST MAKEUP AND HAIRSTYLING: “Suicide Squad”

BEST COSTUME DESIGN: “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them”

BEST VISUAL EFFECTS: “The Jungle Book”

BEST ACTRESS: Emma Stone for “La La Land”

BEST ACTOR: Casey Affleck for “Manchester By The Sea”

La La Land took home the most awards for the night 6 in total, leaving “Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King” still Oscars champ.
But that my friends is not the biggest news..

The final award, BEST PICTURE.. I laughed my fucking ass off.. In case you missed it.. Here’s the rundown.

Warren Betty and Faye Dunaway were to present the nights winner. Upon opening the envelope, Warren seemed confused and unable to announce a winner.. Looking perplexed, he looked at Ms. Dunaway and seemed to look offstage for some assistance.

Unsure what to do, he handed the envelope to Dunaway and she proclaimed “The Oscar Goes To, La La Land!” que music, everyone goes on stage and thank you speeches are being made..
However, behind the person giving his speech. I see a man with a headset racing around looking for the envelope.. Turns out.. Dunaway and Beatty were given the wrong envelope!

They were given the Best Actress envelope, which read, “Emma Stone: La La Land” not the Best Picture Envelope that had, “Moonlight” which was the real winner!

To put into perspective how shocking and amazing this is (and fucking hillarious!) The Oscars are 89 years old.. This. Has never. Happened before! Who the fuck was handing out the envelopes!?
Naturally, everyone is blaming Beatty and surprisingly enough not both he and Dunaway. Bit its neither of their fault! Unlike Steve Harvey who actually just didnt read the right fucking name! They were given the wrong Envelope!

Kimmel, from what i did watch, was pretty good as host. The bits with Matt Damon were freaking funny.

The Best Picture botch was what saved the show! The Oscars pulled ‘A Harvey’

So.. Thats my recap. Thanks for reading. Until next time folks.. Peace Out!

‘WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS’: “THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE”

Hey there, ladies and gentelnerds and welcome back to another edition of “WEEKEND MOVIE REVIEWS!”
Todays movie..

“THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE”

THE STORY:

Batman is the man! According to him. He’s always right. His amazing 9 pack abs are the greatest thing ever. (yes, i said 9 pack abs) He has it all figured out. And, He can do it all on his own. He doesn’t need anyone! Or so he believes. When The Joker devises a way to destroy Gotham and make Batman relaize how much he hates Joker, Batman is put to the ultimate test.
Make no mistake. This is a kids movie. But the message can be felt and learned by people of all ages. The story is brilliant and funny. It may not be as loveable as its predecessor ‘The Lego Movie’, but its a close second. The Lego animation is spot on. The references to all of Batman’s past is fantastic. They go as far back as the 1940’s seriels. Its hillarious. They play around a lot with the Batman ’66 stuff. Bane sounds like Tom Hardy from The Dark Knight Rises. All of it is so funny.

THE CAST:

Will Arnet proves his worthiness of the cowl. Rosario Dawson’s Barbra Gordon is great. Michael Ceras’ Robin is awesome. Ralph Fiennes as Alfred was spot on. So much so, i wouldn’t mind seeing him do it in live action form. The biggest surprise for me, was Zach Galifinakais’ Joker!

For the material it was made for.. It was perfect! I loved it. Im surprised how much i liked his version of The Joker.

THE POSITIVES: Everything was awesome!

THE NEGATIVES: The soundtrack didnt have the song , “Everything Is Awesome”

OVERALL: “The Lego Batman Movie” is a great movie for the whole family. Its good for a date movie. Its good for going on you own to forget about all the other bullshit going on in your life for an Hour and a Half. Its all around great! We are 2 movies into the Lego Movies Franchise, and I cant wait for The ‘Lego Ninjago’ Movie!

I Give, ‘THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE’ a score of, 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 8/10. Your going to have a great time! Go see it!
