Today’s movie is..
“THOR: LOVE & THUNDER “
THE PLOT: “Thor, (Chris Hemsworth) enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taikia Waititi) and Ex-girlfriend-turned- Mighty Thor, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) to help him stop Gorr, The God Butcher (Christian Bale) from executing his plan to rid the universe of the gods”
What can I say about the plot, that’s not entering Spoiler territory?.. uhm.. it’s alright. Not great.. I mean.. it’s a bit all over the place. It’s not sure if it’s serious, comedy, or adventure/ romance. It feels like three movies forced to be one. And that kinda hurts the viewing experience.. to a certain extent.
THE CAST: The cast is no where near the problem of this movie. Everyone plays there part wonderfully!
Christian Bale, never fails.
Natalie Portman looked like she was having fun
Hemsworth, of course, loves this character.
Tessa Thompson.. well.. she was there. That’s for sure.
The Positives: Love & Thunder is a fun and entertaining film.. that much I can say. The cast is great. The visuals are fantastic. Natalie Portman’s Mighty Thor was so much Fun. Bale’s Gorr was a delight. A great villain.
The Negatives: The Directing.. Let me put it this way.. the Directing suffers from Sequal Syndrome.. it’s not as good as the first time around. The plot suffers from lack of focus. Things and moments that should have been serious, were treated too lightly.. This Should have been a Jane Foster/Gorr centric film, and it wasn’t. Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie was wasted, im sorry to say. And I’m not too pleased with how things ended..
OVERALL: Love & Thunder is a fun movie. Good. But not great. Not what I expected, nor hoped it would be. Taikia should have stepped back and let someone else direct this movie.. and or write this movie.. probably would have been better.
I give THOR: LOVE & THUNDER a score of… ⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5. It’s a good movie.
