“BLACK WIDOW: A MOVIE REVIEW!”

Greetings ladies and gentlenerds! And WELCOME! To another Brand Spankin’ New, Movie Review!

Todays Movie is…

“Marvel Studios: BLACK WIDOW”

The Plot: Taking Place after the events of Captain America:Civil War. Widow is on the run from General Ross and the Government. She is then forced to confront her past and join forces with her younger sister Yelena Belova, to take down The Red Room and the Man behind it all.

The story is pretty run of the mill. Thats not a knock. But the story is nothing too special.. However!.. Its the moments that keep you invested. Wonderfully acted moments. Emotional. Funny. Endearing. Action filled.

THE CAST:

A great cast of actors and characters was assembled for this movie.

Scarlett really got to sink her teeth in to this character and bring new dimensions to Widow.

Florence Pugh is a scene stealer, which is hard when Scarlett is in the same scene with her. She was a delight

David Harbour was a fantastic comedic relief as Red Guardian.

Rachel Weisz is.. Hmm.. A great addition?.. But almost non-important.. In all honesty.. Any other great actress could have played the part..

THE POSITIVES: Again, a great cast. Compelling, fun action. Wonderful character and story moments.

THE NEGATIVES: *SIGH* Im sorry.. But that Taskmaster reveal was.. Trash!! Sorry. Not sorry.. Total trash! Made sense for the story, sure.. No problem.. But.. Fuck! That was a let down. Not a strong story. A villain that really didnt play a significant role.. But hey! Its Ray Winston.. So it has to work right?.. Wrong! I did not give two shits about him. At all..

This movie suffers from being filmed in 2019… Black Widow should have been green lit in 2016 right after CIVIL WAR. And Should have released in 2017-18.. NOT in 2021! That gives the film a huge blow.. At least for me.. There were moments i was watching the film and i thought.. “FUCK, this movie should have followed Civil War.. WTF Marvel?!?”

OVERALL: The movie suffers from a poor release time. A so-so story. A lack luster villain and a really. Really. Really shitty handling of a fan favorite villain. Despite that.. Its the moments and the cast that save this movie for me.. I give Marvel’s BLACK WIDOW.. A Score of.. 🌟🌟🌟💫 3 and a half out of 5.. Ill be rewatching this movie a lot.. But it will be in its proper place.. After Civil War..
